PickensPlan

i have devised a plan to cut our dependency to foreign oil. it's called "25 Barrels A Troup". we have 150,000 troups [approx.] in iraq. at 25 barrels a troup we would reduce our oil imports by 3.75 milliom barrels a day. may sound kinda hokie but it has substance. but most of all it would bring our troups home. something we really need to do. and now that oil has plunged in price it would have the double whammy effect. rich oil countries have lived fat off of us too long. we just need to drill for oil. every middle east and the remaining opec countries are in the obama camp. they know he won't drill. people don't you realize we are playing right into their hand. and we just sit here. so i figured if we have a reason to drill it may seem more likely people will join in. and what better reason do we have than to bring our troups home. i have written mc cain and the dems. on this plan i wish you would do the same.
don't get me wrong we have to stop using oil someday. but in the condition we are in as a country i believe we have no choice.
it is a fact that barring all the legalities and b.s. aside we could bring new oil into the system w/ in months. yes months. do you thing it would take 5 years to run a pipe to another to add to production. i think not. remember[in case you have forgotten] this is america a place where i don't think the average citizen knows about anymore.
for our country please take heed to this i believe it will work thanks for reading and thanks for supporting the pickens plan.

I agree with your blog. It is absolute bullcrap to think that we can divest ourselves of oil and totally embrace any other energy source for our vehicles at this present time. What would all of us do with our present vehicles, the parts inventory held by manufacturers and etc.? That said, we must begin to invest in the infrastructure for an alternative, and as it comes on line, vehicles that use it could also be ramped up in production - and incentives for these new models should be lucrative.
'Oil for protection' is a great alternative to our current payment (or lack thereof).

i have a simple solution also, its called Natural Gas... for $16.7Billion we could put a CNG Pump(compressor actually) at every gas station in America (at all 167,000 stations)... the taxes we collect on CNG could be used to pay us back, or re-invested in Wind/Solar/Algae...

GM makes 19 cng cars RIGHT NOW!!! They used to sell them here and could do so again within weeks, if the US get serious about NG... Then instead of temporarily backing off oil, we will be DONE with BigOil and OPEC...once and for all...
