Well, I think that they are in such denial that they would be unable to recognize the reality of our circumstance regardless of whether they read Atlas Shrugged or not. Some are so thoroughly schooled in Keynesian Economics that takes its foundation from a floating abstraction, that they can reach any conclusion they wish for....kinda like a foundation of sand. They are in need of a philosophy grounded in epistemology and reason. But, my guess is that many would do most anything if the price was right...like what would it take to get re-elected.

My comments may at first seem a bit off subject but, the fact is that any solution to energy independence has to be paid for. And we already are so grossly in debt that we have no realistic means of paying it off ....and our currency is seriously threatened as the Fed goes merrily on printing fiat paper. I must admit that I do not know the answer other than to get ready for a helluva lot of pain and a very grim future. The history of Argentina and the Weimar Republic paints the picture for us.
