PickensPlan

What should the Pickens Plan Army do in order to have our voice heard at the meeting? I'm sure there is going to be a big turnout at this event.

In case you missed it America just launched a website to solicit the middle class or working America to participate with. What can we do collectively as soldiers of the Pickens Plan Army to influence decision making.

I would dearly like to go to that meeting. Luis, I am not on PP much these days. Would you please let me know via pm if you hear of other gathering. I just love all the websites that our new President and his team have. Actually am spending more and more time on them instead of PP.

I don't think things will change - especially with oil down below $50/barrel - without getting rid of the false economy of oil/coal and even NG over renewables. Yes, if you measure cost strictly by cost of kilowatts per hour, the fossil fuels seem cheaper, because the "manufacturing" of them was done eons ago by dead dinosaurs. But, measured with pollution costs (e.g. the Tennessee toxic coal ash spill - the first of many, I'm sure), blowing up mountain tops, and despoiling rivers and aquifers, the equation changes dramatically. Unless we somehow factor in these costs, and make producers pay for them, renewables will forever seem cheaper. We need to account for True Costs.
P.S. We must start being honest about NG's prolific use and abuse of the water supply, especially out west. The chemicals they use to fracture NG out of rocks is winding up in the water table, to the detriment of people drinking it. It's better than coal but these are real issues and can't be ignored just to end our dependence on foreign oil. What is Pickens' position on this?

Thanks Luis. Yet another valuable source of Administrative intentions and actions. I enjoy Obamas open door policy.
