PickensPlan

Because the Pickens Plan relies on burning natural gas it can only be a first step. We must become energy independent before we can reduce carbon dioxide emissions; it will take money that is currently going overseas to make it happen.

If we can make electricity from Wind and the Sun and even the heat of the Earth, then if we can run our cars on electricity, we will not need foreign oil or natural gas.

There is a natural gas ceiling just like there is an oil ceiling; so, it can only be a temporary solution, but it might be a good intermediate step. The Pickens Plan is a good start, and every American wins, even if some win more than others.

Thank you for taking the time to read it and for your positive comments.

I have not asked my representatives to Congress to give the Pickens Plan a blank check. I do not want to see more drilling at home as a result of that pledge. The arctic oil is untapped and should be saved for our children's children. When the rest of the world has no oil left the US will have this arctic oil. It is called saving.

Another topic on my mind: Think what $700 billion could do toward energy independence?

If we used that money to create the infrastructure to implement the Pickens Plan and insisted in the appropriation that US products are used to build this infrastructure, ten Americans would be working. Americans would be able to afford their mortgages and no one would have to be bailed out.
