Better use of all our resources

Hello fellow patriots,

I have recently returned from my second trip to North Carolina in 2 weeks.. during my drive along I 81, I 85 and I 95 to Charlotte and points south the idea came to me that our highways could have much better use than growing grass that has to be maintained and cut periodically. Sure looks nice to see the efforts each state puts forth to make our highways beautiful yet consider the fuels used to maintain the center and edges of these highways when each mile of highway could be planted and harvested with biofuel crops. Each State could impliment a program to produce fuels for State vehicles, realize profits from sales of these fuels and help to maintain the highways with the proceeds of these sales.

I also feel each person should take a good look at the resources available to them on their property. Solar, Wind, earth tap, water power, I would like to help each person recognize ways they can reduce dependency on outside resources. I wish to suggest self reliance and doing whatever is possible within your own space from growing healthy food to reducing the refuse stream by recycling every possible item into scrap so these items flow back to industry instead of landfills.

Each of us has to learn a new way of living. We need to learn how to get by with less and make the most of all our resources. We need to learn to re use, recycle, and not waste anything that has potential energy or can save us from having to go find these resources. It is a sad statistic that 4 out of 5 computers wind up in landfills, and that is only computers. Think of all the things we just discard into the waste stream. I would hope that someday in our future virtually each item that came from this earth is recycled into useful products. We then need to embrace using these same recycled end use products. In my world every item has a value.....either it can be composted, scrap, or returned to industry for reuse. Each person should look back in time to a time when Americans were fully self reliant. We need to be the frontiersman, we need to be adventurers who dared to go out into the wilderness and make our own life. By reducing your demand for outside resources and getting by with less luxury... we could show the world that the USA is still filled with strong willed individuals who decided to stand together and make our lives less dependent upon others. This spirit of independence is what made this nation great.... it is our dependence upon others that has made us weak. We need to fight to regain this strength and show the world we can stand alone and be responsible to use our resources ...... all of our resources wisely.

I have owned recyeldamerica.com since 1999...I use it to sell useful items and collectibles but do offer to put this website into this effort so we can exchange ideas and learn from each other. I welcome anyone to step on board and help to grow this website inline with Picken's plan.. We need to build from the bottom and show others how to do their part also. We are planting only a tiny seed here, but this will grow into a mighty Oak if we all work together to educate all Americans to do their part.
