PickensPlan

My Fellow Americans,
Mr. Pickens thank you for getting involved in this long past due effort and showing that there are still men ready to lead. I have been advocating the need for this type of action ever since we topped $3.00/gallon. I believe what we need to do is to contact our government leaders and demand they get on-board with this effort. If you don’t know who yours is please follow this link http://www.carrollpub.com/MyElecteds.asp.

Over the last couple of years I have been bombarding my official on a number of issues and have actually received both form and hand writing responses. So I would suggest that we get our friends and neighbors engaged. We need to take this out of the political arena and focus on our national security and economy. I know that this being an election year each party will attempt to blame the other but consider this we have had both parties in power over the last 30 plus years and things have only gotten more critical.

Please let me know how I can help.

Thanks Boone for throwing your weight behind the energy issue.

However no one alternative energy solution is the answer and we need a comprehensive approach to not just reducing our dependency on foreign oil but making oil a zero value commodity.

If this part of the plan can catch enough of a ground swell this can be a spring board to launching a total energy plan. Better yet just put your resources behinde a total plan now that challenges the current political landscape.

The united states should and must become the holder of the keys to the worlds energy solution. It is embarrassing to me that Honda for example has a production worthy Hydrogen car now available in So. California. We have the technological expertise and the resource to solve this.

The next administration and the next congress must be forced into the realization that the energy issue trumps all other issues facing this country. Without getting out from under the $700 billion problem we won’t be able to pay for or improve healthcare, education, national defense, illegal immigration … ect.

We have to pull out all stops to work this problem.

• Yes we need to drill more and NOW! We need to be willing as a people and as a Government to stick a straw in every hole where there might be oil. If there is rampant speculation in the oil market then that attitude will drive it out.

• Yes we need a nuclear plan the waste issue can be solved we are smart enough to figure that out. Put up $100 million dollars in a grant for a company to develop a container capable of surviving the most horrific accident imaginable… oh I don’t know say the Challenger explosion, and use that container to send nuclear waste to the sun.

• Hydrogen fuel cell technology I believe is the best long term solution to most of the energy equation. The argument of having to burn fossil fuel to crack hydrogen goes out the window if your nuclear plants are supplying the energy to do so.

• Wind and solar must play a significant role as well. Why not give a $5000.00 tax credit to home that install sufficient solar panels to not only run their house but put electricity back into the grid.

• Hydro and geo thermal needs to be exploited.

• Coal should be a critical component in the short term and phased out as cleaner alternatives come on line.

• Bio fuels are another real-time alternative but we need right minded people in place to take action such as reducing the tariffs on Brazilian sugar based ethanol.

• If congress can at the relative drop of a hat pass a $150 billion stimulus package (that by the way only ended up in the pockets of the oil industry) the they should be able to pass a – pick a number - &200,$300, $500 billion? Incentive package to companies that will tackle and produce solution to these technologies. It would create jobs and spur the economy much better that a $600 check that went into the gas tank.

• Challenge congress to not just drop the federal tax but the state taxes as well for as long as it takes them to come up with a plan that will work short and long term. Then let’s see if the do nothing congress will move of the dime

No of these components are that hard to grasp or accomplish, we need as Boone as the LEADERSHIP! To get it done.

No one should be elected president unless this type of immediate and all inclusive mentality is part of their DNA!
