Hello! Are you out there?
I have been a member of Pickens Plan for over a month. Our great leader, President Bush, announced last year that America was "addicted to oil". So where was the leadership? I believe this should be the central issue of our upcoming Presidential election and T. Boone has a sensible plan. The first one I've heard. Like he says, if you've got a better plan, let's hear it.
While our stupid politicians are concentrating on the distractions -- race, gender, the war, all the minor issues, our country is going bankrupt paying for oil to move people around in inefficient vehicles that weigh tons! Don't you realize that oil, on which our entire way of life is built, that oil production PEAKED in 1970? We've been driving around in our cars listening to the radio asleep at the wheel. Meanwhile this country is using more and more oil and buying it outside the country -- paying our hard-earned money to people who do not share our values. Isn't that crazy? Wake up, people!
Only 3 of my friends have joined as a result of initial invitations I sent out to maybe 100 family members and friends. That is a pathetic response. Even poor direct mail campaigns get a 5-6% response. So I have just sent individual invitations again to my best friends. Maybe we don't share the same values. Maybe they are not informed. I certainly hope I get a better response this time.

I feel so strongly about this issue -- energy independence and oil's grip on our way of life. I knew in 1970 that things were bad. Little did I know how bad things could get! Yes, I fell asleep while I was living life. But I am awake now, so look out World! There's gonna be some changes made! Join Pickens Plan as one of my friends and let's get to work.
