Quite a groundswell!

Ole T. Boone Pickens sure set off a huge groundswell of emotion by stepping up to the plate and
stating what most Americans, especially younger Americans know in their heart--it is time for the US
to develop and install the next system of energy sources. We have depended on 40,000,000 year old
carbon deposits for way to long--way toooo long!

Thank goodness for the power of social networks to overcome the entrenched power networks in the US.

Like Obama's guerrilla strategy to overcome Hillary's top down strategy, Pickens approach to enlisting
individual Americans to take up the banner is brilliant.

so now let us all 10,000+ strong (probably out of date in the last 24 hours) and especially you young whippersnappers
get busy and use the power of our social networks to build a buzz that the politicians and the bureaucrats cant
ignore and get busy building our energy independence in conservation, solar, wind, and US based traditional
coal/oil and yes even nuclear along with the attendant centralized and decentralized systems and their
transportation networks.

There are going to be a lot of jobs created, individual and national wealth increases, independence from overseas suppliers, cleaner air/water.

One of the first orders of the day has to be to tell congress to not only extend indefinitely the tax benefits for
companies and individuals for alternative energy investment, but to increase the benefits by 100%! We take on
long term debt in this country for any number of questionable reasons. Energy Independence maybe a more important national goal than even education and health care. And Energy Independence is an integral part of National Security as well. If we can keep things like social security off the books, surely we can amortize the cost of tax benefits for alternative energy over a 100 year time span so as to truly reflect the value of the investment as a national resource/treasure rather than a budget breaking investment
