Let Us Not Get Sidelined by Extremists

Mr. Pickens recently presented his Plan to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO. He has also spoken directly to both presidential hopefuls, Barack Obama and John McCain. Both parties are interested in what he has to say. The point here is that all of us, both Conservatives and Liberals have a vested interest in going forward with this plan. We must stop the redistribution of wealth from the United States to the Middle East. In order to do that, we must work together. We need to avoid those things that divide us in this matter. Recent comments by bloggers on "thedailykos.com" web site is an example of exactly what I'm talking about. Let's not allow ourselves to doubt the sincerity of Mr. Pickens in trying to do what he can for his country. He is an oil man, a billionaire and a man who loves his country. He's 80 years old and has all the money he can ever spend. It serves no good purpose to question his motives. Let us all continue on the path to energy independence. We can do it if we keep our eye on the ball.
