While we push for Natural Gas (NG) to replace fossil fuels (as a transition to passive renewable energy from sun, wind and tides, etc.) we must bear something important in mind. People use NG now -- lots of it -- to heat their homes, their water, and to cook with. Using NG for transportation fuel will inevitably raise the demand, and thereby the price. ANY bill we endorse must include provisions to protect residents from rising (or skyrocketing) prices on those home fuels.
I've seen how much LP jumps in the winter because those in remote places and in mobile homes use it for heating. What will stop NG prices from rising as well -- skyrocketing, even? I don't mind Boone making money, but we must be sensible, careful not to trade one master for another.
