Thanks for the great message Surferpags!

I was born in 1962, so I remember the Amazin' Mets, Joe Namath, and Wilt vs Willis Reed. I was a young sports fan as you can tell, reading the baseball scores at 4years old, but really remembering the '69 sports events, not the riots and political chaos. I became more aware of Vietnam, civil rights, and Dr.King, later in my teen years. My father-in-law served in Vietnam, and received a medal for helping to save part of his unit that was pinned down, by repairing a broken radio and calling for air support.. He returned home to anger, and calls of "baby killer". I thought at 18 that I would have gone to Canada, rather than be sent to Vietnam, but that Muhammad Ali was more of a hero for his stand against the war by going to jail instead. I'm glad that most Americans have more respect for our men and women in the military, even if we disagree with the reasons for fighting, the soldiers are serving their country and deserve our gratitude when (if) they return. Life changes us as we grow older, and hopefully wiser. I am beginning to see what I once thought was thinking ahead, was really just a short-term plan, the future goes much further ahead into time. As I typed last night, "Clean air and water are essential to the survival of our species, energy and fuel for transportation, are just luxuries."

Thanks for encourage thought and introspection...
