Hi,
I just cannot stand these high gasoline prices and I live in California. ( March 11, 2012 )
About a mile from my house at the Natural Gas Company is a natural gas fueling station that anyone can use and CNG currently costs $1.97 a gallon vs. close to $ 4.60 a gallon for gasoline here in Santa Barbara.
I have looked into converting my 1994 nissan truck into a CNG setup, but If I do it in California, the CARB will charge me will tampering with the emission system and charge me big money daily and send me to court, this you must understand, even though my exhaust will meet and exceed 2020 CARB air requirements. They would rather I make dirtier air and use gasoline to support the terrorist countries in the middle east.
The transfer of my car to CNG takes about 10 hours, I can do it myself, it will cost me about $1,400 dollars and I will be off of gasoline, yet they want to make me the criminal.
My question is ...Is CARB bought sold and regulated by the big oil companies...
and how do we turn CARB around in California.
Thank you.
Bob M.

Comment by Tom Bailey on March 21, 2012 at 4:04pm I have no Public CNG fueling stations anywhere near my location.
Call your congressman and yell as loud as you can. Write an op-ed for the papers.

Comment by Bob on March 18, 2012 at 3:22pm I was wrong , the penalty and fine seems to be $2,500.00 dollars, plus extra fines, fees, court costs and anything the courts might toss at you if you are an individual. If you are a commercial operation, the penalties and fines can be hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Comment by Bob on March 16, 2012 at 9:51am I am looking for a cng car tom, but there are not enough CNG cars around and they are not cheap.
Conversion is much cheaper and makes dirty cars clean.

Comment by Bob on March 11, 2012 at 6:13pm Dear Tom,
It sounds good to go for it, but the fine is something like $ 100,000.00 / per day.
Does T. Boone Want to pick up my fines and legal fees?---Bob
Comment by Tom Bailey on March 11, 2012 at 4:38pm I would say go for it.
It seems true the polititians are very slow to bring obvious help to the struggling public.
When and if they catch up to you, get on U tube and get all of California behind you - call Johnny C for legal representation.
Best; Tom
