I would say that soy for biodiesel uses a food crop and extra land. Algae is still getting started an may be a solution in the future. Right now we have a lot of natural gas and renewable methane from biomass has been proven. We could reduce imported oil substantially by converting trucks to run on natural gas.

I currently active in impressing Legislators with the FACTS! Including Sen. Claire McCaskill of MO. The NAT GAS ACT is pending. Probably be voted on before December, 2009. So, I need to be up to speed on the above mentioned topics!

Are CNG, and LNG different fuels? Sure sounds like it. I can understand how Liquified NAT GAS could replace "Oil" in a diesel, but not how a "Gas" could. Unless it was really compressed, under a lot of pressure as it's ported into the cylinder at BDC.

And, is building a diesel to run apparently on: LNG, at better solution than just fueling it with: Bio (Veggie), or Green (Derived from Petro Alage.) diesel fuel?

As with many aspects of the PickensPlan, we all come to it from different directions with differnt solutions. My focus is on generators - such as the power plants for wind turbine. The Nat Gas Act and CNG? Um... My problem solving energy is not thinking about that at all...

The current topic of discussion, due to pending legislation; the NAT GAS ACT and the PP push for NAT GAS as a Alt Automotive fuel is happening at: Reform-Autos "STAY ALIVE = 75 m.p.h." Yahoo group.
I like to be educated on a subject before I commit to it...
We're discussing: Dedicated NAT GAS Vehicles. Converted to NAT GAS vehicles, and DUAL FUEL NAT GAS / Gasoline converted vehicles.

I'm aware that there's plans to convert diesels to: NAT GAS; CNG. I'd like to know why that's a better, greener idea, if so, than just fueling diesels with: Bio, or Green diesel fuel? Thx!
