PickensPlan

I was amazed to read recently that there are about 6 million people in the U.S. that still use home heating oil; mostly in the northeast where the infrastructure is older, and also in more remote areas.

With the price of oil so high, it seems like someone could save a LOT of money by switching over to a natural gas furnace.  I just imagine that anyone who hasn't already done so can't afford the conversion.

I would be interested in joining a group that is helping people to convert away from home heating oil furnaces; which would reduce dependence on OPEC oil, and help people save money at the same time.

Does anyone know of anyone involved in this sort of thing?  I really think this idea should be included in the Pickens Plan.

Which states?  Can we contact representatives asking them to revise local policies prohibiting new pipelines?

And help me out here, could natural gas be delivered to a tank in a remote rural area the way propane is?  If not, wouldn't propane still be a better option than home heating oil?  Propane is a petroleum byproduct, and so should be cheaper.... right?

Most of these states are the same ones that won't allow fracking. Natural gas is very high , in some areas, also : because they won't allow new pipelines.
