Yes, They Could. So They Did. By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN February 14, 2009

The following article was sent to me from Jim Muhaw:

So I am attending the Energy and Resources Institute climate conference in New Delhi, and during the afternoon session two young American women — along with one of their mothers — proposition me.

“Hey, Mr. Friedman,” they say, “would you like to take a little spin around New Delhi in our car?”
Yes they could, so they did

Thanks for posting. The comments in the article about China are not so surprising either. I've had the privilege of being in both India and China several times in the past 6 months. The efforts underway to take advantage of renewable energy in both countries are impressive. They've got a long way to go but it is getting a lot of attention. I've written a couple of blogs about it at Energy Info For You Blog.

Leslie, thank you for this great article. I have sent it to my son - who is working on his Junior paper on alternative energies.

So inspiring. Have a lovely weekend, Leslie!

Ms. Greinstein great article thanks for sharing. It reminds us all that people all over the planet are plugged in to what must be done and are doing it. I hope those young students do a caravan to D.C. The comparison of the roof tops of the Embassies speaks legions about our foot dragging at the highest levels!

It is the urgency of the mission that in part inspired me to posit the need for all of us to put the use of the power of the Executive Order on the agenda and squarely in front of the President. He has the bully pulpit and more importantly the EO and can use it to break all log jams. We do not have time for anymore slow political dances on the killing fields - Peace
