Mr. Pickens,
We are doing are very best to get California fired up---guess you could call us late bloomers. Wednesday on The Green Revolution Show we had Congressman Tim Ryan, Ohio, Veronica Gold Ohio State Leader, District Leaders, Sean Kinney, and Jim Pirko. Everyone did a great job of promoting the Nat Gas Act. We gave Congressional Cosponsors in Ohio and California some well deserved recognition. It is really wonderful to see the effort and teamwork everyone is giving. We are highly motivated---thanks to you! This Wednesday, 12/02/09, we will do a show for the California people and salute cosponsors. We are hoping to receive calls from CA Cosponsors so we can really thank them for their support. We are attempting to get State Leaders and their state's cosponsors on air to pay tribute, and keep the focus on HR 1835. We are all very proud to serve in your army and we will give full effort to accomplish the task at hand. Warmest holiday wishes for you and yours.
When was the last time you drove 795 miles in 1 day? To top that feat, I drove 795 miles in 1 day on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
I enjoy these rare opportunites to go to a public refueling system. It gives me a chance to see & experience new locations with new or different CNG refueling equipment. It also gives me a chance to accurately measure my fuel efficiency and the results were astounding.
Let's start this story in La Crosse, Wi with an 8 gallon tank full of CNG. Imagine driving 273.1 miles to the north side of O 'Hare Airport along Interstate 90 at 65 mph and refuel 5.429 gallons of gasoline equivalent (GG). A simple calculation 273.1/5.429=50.3 MPG! Astounding. And Ryan assisted me in the refueling process very professionally. But, since this is one of the few public refuleing systems in Chicagoland, I was charged $2.19 per GGE resulting in a charge of $11.88. Now, I know what you're thinking, how can you not be elated about driving 273.1 miles on $11.88. For instance, if your neighbor gets 48 mpg in their Toyota Prius, it would have cost them $15.30 or 29% more. But wait, this is just the 1st part of this astounding story.
Now, let's continue our journey east on I90 to my alma mater, Notre Dame to see none other than T. Boone Pickens! He engaged an audience of approximately 500 people about CNG as a transportation "bridge" to return to American fuel that is 50% more clean than diesel that we import from our enemies. He predicts that oil will reach $300 per barrel in 10 years. I get to shake his hand and give him a copy of our video, Journey to the Zone that is posted on my Pickens Plan page. It is a small example of our regional efforts that are dwarfed by the $62 million that he has spent inthe last 16 months across America.
Let's pop back into my 2006 Honda Civic GX (3rd generation of CNG Civics produced in America) and drive through the rain, road repair and speeds of downtown Chicago traffic to Racine. The rain and speeds reduce my mileage to 48.54 MPG but I refule for $1.109 for CNG! In total I have travelled 562.2 miles on $18.49 giving me an average of 30.4 MILES PER DOLLAR (MP$). Going back to your neighbors Prius getting 48 mpg, with gasoline at $2.69/ gallon, they would have gotten 17.84 MP$. I have completed my measured portion of the days adventure getting 70.4% better MP$ than a Prius. And that includes nearly half the trip calculations at fuel prices that are approximately double what you could refuel in your home with natural gas.
The third leg included more road construction, rain and finally fog but the Honda Civic GX slogged through 795 miles.
273.1 miles@50.3mpg@$1.109gge=$6.02
289.1 miles@48.54mpg@$2.109=$13.04
232.8 miles@48.54mpg@$1.109gge=$5.32
TOTAL 795 miles $24.38
If your vehicle gets 25 mpg, it would have cost you $85.54 to make the same trip. Saving $61.16 feels great but using clean American fuel is the part that T. Boone Pickens would appreciate for his grandchildren.
AMFIGS, Llc. We have technology in hand called plasma torch that had been tested since 1970s. We had professional certified engineer tested this technology in the 70s and we used garbage, coal, tires and other material to be transformed into useful energy such as clean coal, natural gas, and so on. The benefit of this technology is it contained up to 80% of energy source of natural gas and also we have certification on environmentally sound proved by EPA and the entire original R& D data base and our original engineer is in our team. Mostly, this technology works! Currently, there are other companies are working this type of technology but that equipment doesn’t work due to various reasons. Our technology is environmentally safe and also helps U.S reduce the dependency on foreign oil; eliminated multiple of garbage and other wasted products while converting them to useful material and energy. Currently, this technology is for sale and we have been contacted by other competitive foreign countries. we can be contacted www.greenhongkong.asia this system works where others fail in emissions compliance with epa standards
Mr. Pickens, I would like to know where/who I can submit an alternative fuel source plan to that will be secure. Can you direct me? Thanks and let's all keep up the work, there is much to do.
Mr. Pickens, I was very impressed with the amount of environmental information on the Clean Energy website. I hope that your companies are also leading the way in environmentally responsible drilling practices for obtaining Natural Gas. Our drinking water is a critical resource, as I am sure you are very aware. Keep promoting Energy Independence, and keeping our air and water clean.
I support the Pickens Plan, but there are limits to what we can allow to happen to our environment. Air and water are the most important natural resources we have, and they must be protected!
I've been working for the Pickens Plan for a year now, and the discussions this week are the first mention of "Fracking" that I have seen. I had heard about hydraulic fracture being used for oil extraction, but hadn't looked into the environmental effects. The chemicals used in Fracking must be regulated by the EPA! Haliburton, and others have managed to get around the laws protecting the environment by using "proprietary formulas" for their Fracking solutions. These solutions are getting into our water supplies and contaminating drinking water, workers are treated for severe acid burns, and toxic chemical exposure. The Pickens Plan should be an example of responsible use of natural resources, care for the environment, education about renewable energy and sustainability, leaving a lasting legacy for the generations to follow.
Restore the Safe Drinking Water Act to protect our water. You can't drink Natural Gas or Oil, and when the AIR and WATER are polluted, the inhabitants of Planet Earth are "Fracked."
I will be consulting with a tribe this month who's wind studies are complete and are ready to build their park. Monies from DC have been received. If you are interested in bringing the plan onto the reservations please let me know. We have the land base away from populations so noise is not such an issue. Environmental impact can be reduced. Let me know if interested.
In support of Mr. Tommy Hicks below, I grew up a mile from a HOG farm in Indiana and it is nothing like a Wind Farm. However, my Dad used to tell me that "when you smell those HOGS, that is the smell of MONEY." So now I just tell people "if you hear a Windmill, that is the sound of MONEY!"
Mr. Pickens, we are proud to be District FL-13 Coordinators, but also proud that we are proceeding to participate on our home farms in Wolcott, Indiana as a part of the Meadow Lake Wind Farm project. That's where a lot of that wind from Texas and Oklahoma ends up!
Mr. Picken's One of my current idea's for offshore Florida power generators has been acted on! I posted a discussion on your site about my idea back on July 8th; Now on July 27th I sign onto CNN and guess what one of the stories I see is..."Is the ocean Florida's untapped energy source?"...
mr. pickens , i am embarrassed to say north carolina legislators are wanting to ban wind energy from the western north carolina mountains ! one fellow compared being located beside a wind farm to being located beside a hog farm !! ignorance abounds even among supposed best in 2009 !!! call our governor or lt. governor who is from my home county.......mr.walter dalton. his number is 828 286 8222. tell them something !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, thank you for all you are doing to support our economy, environment and energy independence. I truly appreciate your plan and recently joined your army. In my volunteer work in South FL I often speak of my experience in the Middle East (Advisor while serving in the US Navy) and our need to escape our dependence.
I have a request of you, however, I would like to share with you my current activities so that you understand my motives:
- Board of Director, USGBC South FL Chapter
- Chair, Broward County Branch of the SF Chapter
- Broward County Climate Change Task Force
- Broward League of Cities Sustainability Committee
- Chair, Green Schools Advocacy Committee, USGBC SF Chapter
Now my request...this fall we are gathering members from the Broward County School Board, Mayors, Vice Mayors from the 31 municipalities that make up Broward County, and few state representatives for a "Green Schools Leadership Forum". Our message is twofold, 1) our school buildings must become healthier and more efficient facilities, and 2) we must prepare our kids for the challenges of the 21st century. Preparing our kids means exposure and instruction on subjects such as climate change, global warming, sea level rise, and the renewable energy technologies that will dominate our future generations.
I would like to invite you to speak to our community leaders during a Thursday evening (Oct 22) reception to kick off the event. In addition to speaking about the current economic challenges our nation is facing as a result of our energy dependence, I would like our school board (6th largest in the country) members, superintendent, district senior staff and local leaders to hear first hand that the technologies, although available today, will require a trained and educated people to implement, manage and refine these technologies.
I realize that your time is limited, but I feel strongly that your appearance and message will have the impact to generate political support, and the impetus to change the status quo in South FL.
If I can be of any assistance or provide you with any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience. Thank you for your time.
Hello Sir,
I have was wondering if you need more land for your wind projects. I understand your wanting to try smaller wind farms? Could you tell me how many wind turbines could fit on 80 arces? I might be able to help in this department if you are needing land in Oklahoma.
Let me know....Thanks
Happy 1 year anniversary for the Pickens Plan!! As we renew our commitment to the fight for American Energy Independence, are there any new goals for the Pickens Plan? As James Tracy stated below, pollution control and waste-to-energy are important considerations for our American Energy Policy. The long term goal needs to be to find renewable energy resources which will allow us to maintain clean air and clean water on this planet for as long as possible. When we run out of food, water, and air humans will have to find another place to live, ready or not.
Dear Mr. Pickens, Supposedly Mike Pickens said this "'the goal of this site is to get Congress to accept the Pickens Plan as the Energy Plan for America - that is it. W2 and microwave BS, etc., are NOT included."
Does your plan include pollution control, or waste to energy? What are you going to do about this?
Mr. Pickens: Thank you for your leadership and inspiration. I am an entrepreneur, girlgeek and Kansan. As a new member of the Army I will do my part to promote Wind Energy Development and Natural Gas & Hydrogen for Large Commercial Transportation. I also personally wish to locate Wimax repeaters on Wind Towers for affordable and reliable broadband for rural America to bring knowledge based teleworkers to outmigration counties in the US. This will remove drivers form the highway, clean up the meth problem by placing tax payers in the rural communities again, and shore up failing infrastructure. I believe we can fix this in my lifetime. Put me to work, sir. Thank you, Jeanne Johnson

Can't a fund be setup for contributions to build wind generators ?
This is why I joined this site, to help build wind generators.
