Thank you Leslie for the welcome enjoyed reading your comment and will be digging into those links you posted.Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family also to everyone else.
Hi Leslie,
A Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope that Herman is home and has a break to enjoy the holiday with you. Where is he working now? Here, all is working well with our new heat-pump and solar combination......the past month's heating bill was only $22.00. The new HVAC system will pay for itself in short order, especially with the energy tax credit..........Take care, Lee
Great job Leslie, I do feel that natural gas > foreign oil. However, I do feel what we should really be working towards is a combination of solar, wind, tidal, wave and geothermal. Please feel free to watch and share this presentation that includes those sources of real clean sustainable energy. Thanks
Thanks Leslie. It will take some time to wrap my head around the plan and I would like to study it sufficiently as my general knowledge of energy alternatives is limited. May I use you for any questions I might have?
Excellent video on using vegetable oil in your MB. I have a couple of questions ...
1. Could you run 100% on veg. oil or to you need to clean the system by using regular diesel fuel in between?
2. Where can I find the best guide for such a conversion? I have a Ford diesel truck.
Thanks again for posting!
Alas, it was not to be! :) However your support (as one who was new to this:)) is very much appreciated. The Phillies had some tough breaks with the Yankees!
Check out Brad Lidge for his interest in religious archaeology - really interesting!
Yes Leslie, I saw the news about the Arcadia, FL solar plant. Solar energy as it now exsists is very ineffecient however, collecting only a small percentage of the energy that falls upon it. That is why I've tried to interest T. Boone Pickens, and our nation's government, to pursue the developement of the Solar assisted Thermal Water Vapor Engine. As it has the ability to harvest far more energy from a much smaller space of used land, and because it harvests "kinetic" energy from the sunlight, it could power grain mills, woodworking plants, electrical generation plants, anything that requires "kenetic" energy, without fuel of any kind, just the moving around of heat energy from whatever source, sunlight, compost, ambient land, air, or sea, thermal content. Also, it could purify seawater to use as a potable water source. The Energy Department of the State of Florida has offered to put up as much as $22 million dollars in grant money to any organization that would help to develope the actual protype plant here in Florida, and that is why I've tried to interest the Pickens Plan in this idea's developement.
Yes, Leslie, I was a member a while back, and I had a falling about with Boone over his methods for acquiring transmission line right of way, however he has cleared that up , and assured me that he is not trying to corner the water market in western Texas. He (or his rep.) assured me that his effort to form a "private" governing entity, is purely related to acquiring right of way for transmission lines, and not to cornering the western Texas water rights, so I'm thorwing my support back behind the Pickens Plan...
Thanks! Really enjoyed hearing T. Boone Pickens presentation last night at Notre Dame! We are working with CNG intitiatives and are eager for progress.
Thanks!
Hi Leslie! I accidentally deleted your message before I could read it and respond to it. Could you resend the previous message? I would love to chat with you!!! Rhonda
Hi Leslie......What a lousy October in northern Michigan. Our last good solar gain days were at the end of September, but since October 1st, it has been solid rain and cloudy skies........perhaps living in FLA during the cold months here wouldn't be a bad idea. We have had several days of snow flurries but none has stuck to the ground. That might change next week when snow is predicted again. Many of the "snow birds" have headed south from this area. We are strictly on heat-pump for heat and propane for hot water........enjoy that warm weather!!!
