How far is Seattle from Spokane? I'm sure you know of this-- Carol is working on getting Mr. Pickens to a town hall meeting there. She has the Spokane group.

I joined the Pickens Plan about a week ago and have spent some time today looking over the features of our website. I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m very excited about our community because I’m also a member of one.org (U2 – Bono – World Hunger) and have personally seen the results of people banning together and influencing our government. The Internet has made it possible. Please keep in touch. All the best, Luis Garcia…

We Are Mad As Hell and Not Going To Take It Anymore!

Ever notice how nobody pays any attention until you complain about something? e.g. "the squeaky wheel gets the oil." Well, people it's time to start complaining. Mr. Pickens has done an increditable job to stimulate interest to "cut the oil umbillical cord". Let's not let him down. Please take a few minutes to reread the attached US Constitution. http://www.consource.org/index.asp?sid=9&comid=289.
Connect the dots on Sections you have issues with. Select one or two you are passionate about and start emailing to every elected offical in your area. You can expect some flak from the local guys who will try to hide under the Blame Game Blanket. "That's a Fed problem. We can only direct sewer and pot holes repairs".
I don't think so. To be sworn in, they have to take an Oath. All 50 states have a similar words. Here is the California Oath.
Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution reads as follows: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."

Working on Jefferson’s theory that we need not to concern ourselves that good men could become bad men once obtaining the power their respective office conveyed upon them because they would be bound by the Constitution, it was decided that to bind the elected officials to the constitution, each elected official would swear an oath of allegiance to the Constitution. In the 1850 version of the California State Constitution the following oath was inserted at Article XI Section 3 –
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be) that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of California; and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of (name of office), according to the best of my ability."
All members of the legislature and all executive and judicial officers, except such inferior officers as exempted by law, were required to take and subscribe to this oath. The California Constitution, as have all Constitutions, has been amended several times over the years. However, the oath required to be taken by our elected officials remained in tact to ensure our elected representatives would be bound by the Constitutions.

Oh! Lord of Hosts," cried a voice among the crowd, "provide a Champion for thy people!"

The oath of office to be taken by all but a few public officers in West Virginia, from a city council member to the Governor of the State, is prescribed by the West Virginia Constitution. Article IV, Section 5 specifies the terms of the oath to be taken:
"Every person elected or appointed to any office, before proceeding to exercise the authority, or discharge the duties thereof, shall make oath or affirmation that he will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this State, and that he will faithfully discharge the duties of his said office to the best of his skill and judgment; and no other oath, declaration, or test shall be required as a qualification, unless herein provided

We all rely totally on transportation-- the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We do not depend on oil, we depend on transportation -- we cannot avoid the need for transportation it is a true dependency that will never go away. Unfortunately transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority.
The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence. ETT implementation will accelerate reaching the goal faster than any alternative fuel scheme. Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT)™ is patented transportation technology that can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh than electric cars or trains, it is cleaner, lower cost, safer, faster, and electric (so it can use Pickens wind power or PV to it's highest and best use). Greetings Jeffrey,
I will do as advised. I am a Professional Engineer with approximately 45 years under my belt. I have not retired and I work full time. I will provide information on the technical aspects, mechanical and thermodynamics. I will leave electrican engineers to provide information on electrical aspects.

All Picken Plan supporters MUST support the People's petition. It makes implementation of Picken's Plan easier and faster. When we get the elected officials work with us because we WANT them to they will stop bickering and horse trading and will get to the job that needs to be done.

Thanks

Thank You Jeff;
Slowly, but surely, I'm learning my way around.
At any rate, as big as this change needs to be it seems it will take a revolution and the current profitting corporations will not let it happen without a fight.

hi Hans, we grow 3,000,000 board feet of timber on our ranch so we are carbon negative in regards to everything we do. The boats only run about 10 days a year in reality, keeping them up and major renovations fill in the winter months when we are not skiing the Best Snow in Idaho! thanks for the post

Jeff,
Congratulations to your efforts. I understand that your Chris Craft cannot have sails. How about solar panels? I know it is difficult to let go these beautiful old boats. I have restored two very old wooden rowing boats myself.
Best regards,

Thanks for the welcome. What I'm thinking we need at "entry" for the millions the Boone's Army will need aboard is NOT a "warning" about tech stuff but a "welcome" that guides folks with different backgrounds to different "entry guides" that, in the case of "noobs" (non pejorative shorthand for a non tech/non activist), gets them started on communicating to their elected reps, exec branch leaders, automobile execs etc as the first best thing they can do in their new TPP Member role.

Hi Paul, yeah, I have been thinking a motorcycle and Hobie cat might be appropriate. It is pretty amazing how many fewer boats and jet skis are on the lakes of north Idaho this summer. And last week someone decided to drain three cars of fuel while they were parked at the public boat launch overnight. Thankfully our fleet is so beautiful that just sitting on a trailer or tied up at a dock they seem to be moving--that 1948 Chris has seen a lot of economic cycles, we are just restoring her for another 50 years of life reminding me and my father and many others of the value and beauty of working with your hands to make something that can only be defined as a treasure.

Right. Like they say, "all politics are local", and since most of all are "small fry", we better try to eat this elephant one bite at a time. I am looking to get a face to face with other group members in Orlando when we get up to 20 members or so, so that we can strategize.
