Aubrey McClendon the American Clean Skies Foundation Chairman will be testifying to congress today. I saw his interview on CNBC and he has some very interesting information on new natural gas discoveries. He may be on C-Span, at least we can hope. He says that new discoveries of natural gas fields in the United States include the third largest gas field in the world. That is a lot of natural gas.
Dave,
I am glad to see that you are aboard the Pickens Plan train to an energy independence starting line. I somehow found my way to your page, read your views and thoughts on the plan which compelled me to make just one comment: DITTO! Great page, great effort, thanks for your contribution.
Dave,
Excellent page. I'm from chandler, az and was just out your way doing training at MCRD San Diego and Camp Pendleton..I will be returning on 8/6 to train at MCAS Miramar. Have to run 4 now. G-man
Saw your post of the http://www.c-span.org/ - thank you! I did have trouble - but read Bills summary reply - then saw your other forum - I am requesting you as a friend.
Hi - Just a quick thanks for the suggestion and links you posted at Pickens Plan regarding the cut and paste route for contacting legislators. I've become a clipboard pasting fool and am spamming the daylights out of everyone I can find a contact form for. Thanks again for making it easy.
Hi David,
Thanks for the invite. Going green and finding resources for alternative energy is the furture of our country, I have chedked out mariah, good product also another group I found is Pacwind turbines. Found out about them through Jay Lennos garage for his cars. Just wish these products were affordable for average income Amercians. We the people must demand of our gov. to act, so doing my part to get the work out . Amercia lets lead the world in going green and take control over our furture. sincerly Leslie Watson
Thanks for sharing the info. regarding the interviews on C-Span, Dave. It seems as though there are more and more glimmers of hope, and I appreciate your positive outlook!
It occurs to me as I drive around "industrial sites", i.e. where industry buildings are clustered, that most of them have flat roofs that would easily accommodate solar panels that would begin to off-set (and even perhaps augment) electrical engergy useage. I live in Colorado where we receive almost 300 days of sunshine. I know Pickens Plan calls for wind energy but we should also consider other alternative energy sources.
David, Thanks for the info from CSpan. I have several ideas spinning in my head about the transition to the ultimate renewable energy programs that seem somewhat promising, like wind and natural gas. How are we going to transition? That is the question I have. We have at least 7 to 10 years to the major changes. I believe that if we could reduce our gasoline consumption by 20-30%. Not by reducing our driving but increasing our MPG. There are several products and services out there that show some good promise. If someone wanted to add the ability to their gas vehicle to use natural gas a tax credit would be a very good incentive. With so many possibilities it is indeed a challenge to give any such ideas to our legislatures.
