Mr. Davis,
I was requested to notify my district leader (you) regarding any reply to my emails sent to U.S. Congressmen about Senate Bill 1408. I have received a positive reply from Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Hi Daddy! I just remade my page... looks very spiffy if I do say so myself and I found some great pictures of wind generators on google images that I loaded onto my profile. I sent out e-mails to my friends, have posted bulletins on my myspace to make others aware of Pickens plan and just mailed off my ten letters to congress. I hope to get more people involved and as I said on my Pickens Page, I think it's very important to get the 20+ age range really involved. I'll do all I can to help. Love you dad! Louie
Kelly, you are welcome to meet at Frank's Place when you gather some of the local Pickens Army for a meeting. We are now Smoke Free. your Friend, Marta

Hi Kelly, I'm leaving you this message to make you aware of the OTHER SIDE of the Michigan FairTax Proposal that Daar Fisher is attempting to introduce to people on this site. There are MAJOR problems associated with this tax proposal that people need to consider. Please click on the above links to review the information. This tax would greatly burden the middle class. The backers of this tax proposal, would have you believe, that it is not, shifting the tax burden from business to individuals because of 'hidden fees' passed on to individuals in product prices which essentiality pay that business's taxes. They say 'businesses do not pay taxes, people do'! If that IS TRUE, then ask yourself. Why then would businesses flock to Michigan if this tax proposal is passed which eliimnates their state taxes? Why would it make a difference, if according to them, under the current system the consumers are paying for business taxes anyway? Think about it, don't be fooled
Hi Kelly, I'm the state Internal Communication Director for the Michigan FairTax Assn which works "hand in glove" with goals of the Pickens Plan because by REPLACING the Michigan income tax, families and businesses will have additional disposable monthly income to make energy improvements to their homes and businesses.
How will passage of a MI FairTax do this? It will REPLACE the income tax and current sales tax, with a consumption tax (sales tax at point of retail sale). This means that no more state tax will be withheld from Michigan wage-earners' paychecks. What's more, every Michigan resident-family will receive a monthly "prebate" check, in amount based on family size. This will ensure that NO Michigan family will EVEN BEGIN paying the MI FairTax on goods / services unless, or until, they exceed poverty-level spending.
Under the FairTax plan, points of collection are reduced to retailers many of whom are already collecting sales tax. Because service providers must account for income tax withholding and compliance costs, their prices carry a hidden tax which will become visible under the MI FairTax. (The MI FairTax EXCLUDES business-to-business purchases as this would, again, hide the cost of taxation in prices.)
Because of the prebate to ALL Michigan-resident households, the MI FairTax rate would effectively be 0% on all monthly family spending to the poverty level; thereafter it's 9.75%. The average effective rate will be around 5.5% (see p.2 of pdf brochure).

Merry Christmas P.,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me P., I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Michigan: I just posted an article on my page about Home Wind Systems in Michigan. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.
(1) Please Go to THE PLEDGE (very top of this page) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done! Thanks.
(2) In addition to political support and action, I encourage you to consider a Personal Energy Plan in which you take control of your electricity by using home energy systems. That's what I do for a living, help people with their own home systems. I will be glad to help you and answer any questions. Below is some info and links that will give you an idea of where to start.
Hi P.,
We have new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits are shipping now. They are sleek, attractive, and well designed. These are actually a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, dishwasher, etc. It's a nice clean way for you to begin a personal energy plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.
Your Wind blows stronger in the winter, Your Sun shines stronger in the summer months. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.
I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs and P., you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Michigan. Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.
I would like to point out that you served our country for, what 26 years, I highly doubt you are not a brave man!!!!! In my book you are the epitome of Brave!
Also, considering that you have not been in town long, I would say that 3 pledges is pretty darn good too! Keep up the good work.
I went to a meeting and picked up another 9 pledge signers.
Kindest Thoughts,
Lyn
Hello P. Kelly,
Thanks for adding me as your friend ;o)
I haven't been too active on the site lately - have a harder class than anticipated at college...
However, I do carry about 10 or more Pickens Plan Pledges and a few more flyers that I downloaded off the site. I tell others about the plan and have gotten about 28 people to sign pledges so far.
The flyers are located under Groups and then Guides...
Hope you have good luck finding a job. Michigan is a hard state for that! Basically why I am back to college after 25 years. Harder to learn now, but I do love to learn. Getting an A so far.
Kindest Thoughts,
Lyn
