Hi BurgessKJ, Here is a tool for all of us to get RE projects started by selling of US Treasury "Energy Independence Savings Bonds". Savings bonds are normally purchased in $25 increments. This gives a way for just about any American to tighten their belts just a bit by skipping a meal at McDonalds or Pizza Hut and buying a RE savings bond to support a renewable energy project and save money at the same time for themselves. I need help pushing this project, I've faxed and emailed many in Congress/Senate already. If you agree with this plan please consider passing to other people in your district as it will be a great tool to get funding for PickensPlan projects. This is a way to help and give tools to all of us for getting more RE projects started. My email is ke6cvh@yahoo.com. Here is a copy of a fax sent to Nancy Pelosi the other day:

Honorable Speaker of the House Congresswoman Pelosi,
I am an Electronic Technician Chief in the US Navy with 27 years service stationed overseas. I’m outlying an idea to assist and work with current plans for achieving energy independence. I urge you, as speaker of the house and the driving force to form the select committee on energy independence and global warming, consider for discussion and introduction into the house US Treasury Savings Bonds for Energy Independance.
In WWII America sold war bonds supporting the war effort. When young, my mother told me her primary school raised enough money through bonds to build a tank to support troops. I am impressed with the patriotism and purpose of our greatest generation that accomplished so much.
Selling energy bonds for RE (Renewable Energy) development would lower foreign oil imports and assist with the complex problem of funding. Bonds sold as “Energy S” could support new solar trough plants, “Energy W” to support wind farms, Energy “H” to support hydroelectric plants, Energy “T” to support RE transportation such as electric bullet train routes powered by RE, Energy "C" COOPS for small communities only needing a small quantity of turbines, and Energy “I” for needed infrastructure high voltage power lines to the RE site. Bonds will have the project name and include an artist’s perspective of the project and an American flag. President Obama had great success with the internet during his campaign. In a similar manner, using the internet, energy bonds could have a website listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” could purchase a bond $25 or higher. Simpler methods of payment such as “PAYPAL” and credit cards would be available and after an electronic purchase is complete a color print out of the bond is available with a follow up of the bond in the mail. The website would limit quantity of projects for each category until funding is complete. After a project becomes funded, a new project will be available. A tab on the site will show history and status of previous projects. Purchasers may take great pride in “collecting” and displaying bonds of various RE projects and participating at different levels of financial support. Solar trough plants in the multi-hundred MW size capacity with molten salt energy storage in California, Arizona, and West Texas can provide a major portion of electric needs. North Dakota has potential to support 1/3 of our nations electric needs in it’s class 4 wind zone areas. There are plenty of suitable proposed wind turbine farms now around the nation to significantly increase our RE if funded. Mid sized hydro-electric has not been used in America to it’s full potential. Following the example of our neighbor, Canada, it would provide a significant increase in percentage of electric production. Developing all three we could provide the majority of our electric and heating needs through renewable energy in a "New New Deal" fashion allowing natural gas for transportation as T. Boone Pickens is working for. Bullet train routes have proven a viable alternative to commercial domestic air service and when powered by electricity provided by RE suppliers America would be in the forefront of world technology. Example, I heard of discussion for a commuter train from Denver to Colorado Springs. Such a route built as a renewable energy project with charter requirement legally requiring to only purchase electricity from available renewable energy sources would be a model example. There are many train routes, city bus systems, and government vehicles that can be converted to run from alternative energy sources and fuels. Jobs created would bolster the economy, lower trade deficit, and strengthen national security. I would take great pride in print outs of bonds with graphics of each project I supported and many other Americans would also. The energy bonds could have tax breaks. BLM lands may be a viable place to start for some projects.
I contacted the US treasury department and was told that the marketing department for savings bonds closed several years ago. I was told there would be problems because savings bonds are at the federal level while the projects will be at the state and local level. I disagree and believe that these can easily be figured out in the way of grants to the state and local level using money from the bonds for those specific projects. I was told to check out auctions on the www.treasurydirect.gov website and found them to not apply to citizens wanting to buy savings bonds to support a cause such as energy independance. I was told by the treasury department to look into CREB (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). I found CREB to be large scale funding that a citizen would not be able to participate in as a US Treasury Energy Independance Bond would provide. If given the tools to participate directly, the power of the citizens of the United States to help achieve energy independance could not be denied. Americans mean well and the Energy Independance Savings bond program will give citizens the power at their level to make it happen. If marketed through a web page, commercials, and to federal employees the word would get out and participation would spread like wildfire.

Hello again, hope your feeling OK now its 2009 and we got a new government that's having so many difficulties I think I am just about give out on the idea I have but still ticking here trying to obtain some support for it. All those bailouts seems to show that few businesses have money they want to donate which could be tax deductible for them if they would but I think that 'Green Points' would be better which could be used as money and would like to explore that.

Broadcasting information should be incorporated into 'smart' transmission lines. If this is not already in the plans, then we should support it's implementation.
Where would we start to research this?
Of course you must be thinking of a power grid with respect to a memory cache which is accessable through a ID system. It should not be to difficult allowing also that a audio or video digital feed can be sent scrambled via a lightwave and then unscrambled by whom has the receiver tuned for receiving a lightwave scrambled signal so to distinguish between the audio and video bandwidth. In a power grid a bandwidth would have to be established first to utilize and that being the carrier it must then be tapped off before the power enters the rest of the system as the frequency may be to much for some devices which would suffer from interferrance esp. superhetrodyne interferrance but the line filtration could stop the carrier entirely so theres no problem there. It is then up to what is to be considered as information. With a lightwave transmitter/receiver you do not have this problem because the system is isolated in direct line of sight, with a airwave matter however it can be done outside a transmission line but in a Microwave Tube that can grow entirely into a hazardous wavelength inside the tube area that could cause burns and even cancers it might be a less serious matter to consider staying on a transmission line but Water Works Systems around this nation are using a system that links via the meter through a cellular network and that is planned for the power grids one day which means a serviceman does not have to come out to the house to read either meter and can simply use the GPS System its managed by to link to the cellular communication from the memory cache device affixed to the meters. Fiber Optical transmission is another area to consider, it is a confined system and has no radio inteferrance excepting for the actual transmitter and the Actual Receiver, not in the fiber optics.
With the Big Switch to HDTV reception which is digital TV instead of Analog TV there will be a lot of VHF and UHF frequencies available for these types of transmissions which are not airwave transmissions so use in CATV systems are highly possible say using channels 2-13 and UHF channels 14-83 without violating the law of transmitting. Embedding these into a GHz Carrier is also possible if that carrier is not being used or it is just point to point, without having to confine transmission to a wire system.
I worked on a television controller which would negotiate to other devices instead of the original devices a remote control provides. But I was not to successful to get the device to work the alphabet properly to manage a digital imagery solution for the remote control of the image as seen on a television, this requires controlling another device through the receiver of the TV Remote that is transmitting the image then returning the result in real time to the display TV Screen. I wanted this to work so to make a cellular system that would access the Clubhouse where the stored image was located and signal through a ID to acknowledge acceptance of the user as a account holder and then accessing the stored images to select for a folder, move to a folder, delete from a folder, duplicate in a folder, resize, recolor selection, splice one image to another, shrink selection, distort selection, and to select a image to print, or to print and mail to a address selected; all from the convenience of home using only a land line telephone connected to the set top TV controller box. The cellular system would have been inside each digital camera but it could not have been used to dial a phone number cause it would have been set to be received only by the sent digital alphanumeric sequence of the Clubhouse Computer System.
My general idea was to spring into market a rentable digital camera that would transmit the pictures to the Clubhouse where a account was established upon renting the camera and once finished with the rental period place the digital camera into a Business Reply Mailing Box and drop it off at the Post Office or in any Postal Box, the Post Office marks each package as when it is received by them in a sheet and that sheet is cataloged into their system which counts the total mailings so that the bulk rate can be figured to bill the business which was the Digital Photo Camera Rental Club. If I had gotten it entirely founded the system would have had its on 'Smart' Transmission Management which nothing else would master and that would bring down the cost of having to own a computer to do digital picture alterations, digital picture mailing (even as a postcard or as a stored image on SD cards, USB memory devices, CD, DVD, etc.). My ideas for printing went into Postage Stamp sizes (with stickum) which would have been nice for small works, and into poster sections so that simply by dividing a image into sections a larger poster could be printed (billboard size even).
I also figured that software, printers, and printer software and ink also cost to much and this would bring down the overhead of every American that wanted to use a digital picture. Sharing came to mind so a member could select a image and have it shared with another member and if a member relocated the entire lot of stored images could also be moved to another Clubhouse. I figured out almost everything but not quite enough to convenience anyone that this idea had merit and needed to be developed and in the market right then. I still see merit in this even so digital cameras have dropped in price and computers have become less expensive. I would have to go back through all of it again to get it right. What it all meant was that digital imagery on cellphones would not have been such a big selling feature and this market would have soared even without being able to call anyone and send a image to them via the cellphone it was a super way to actually obtain a hardcopy or a stored album of every image selected by a member of the Club. Course Cellphones have no membership which really should have been the issue instead of making a purchaser buy into a two year subscription and requiring full payment if they bailed out of their contract. Just think how much bailout is needed by government just because the agents and government employees did not want the phones and wanted some other carrier because the carrier they got required the prepaid subscription and the area did not even receivbe or transmit so the phone was useless and the company did nothing to get it to work without having to install more towers which became a suit against towers in itself by people that had no phones, it was ugly that the towers blocked the views or that they caused electronic pollution.
Schools could operate their own Digital Rental Services and student reporters could roam the countryside obtaining interesting pictures even at football games and no student has to purchase anything except for when they want stored images sent to them or given them or when they want printing and mailings. School Logos would be stickers on the phones which would recognize a students school, recognize a government department, or recognize specific businesses. As for government it could have been a super budget savings with each department capable of operating their own Club foresay which eliminates their need of in home computers to accomplish the tasks. Newsmedia everywhere could resort to this type of rental instead of purchasing their media businesses digital equipment. I really wanted this to work and I would like to go back to it someday and try to make it possible. I did this when AT&T pulled out of communications and rejected cellular phones this was long ago, I tried to get them, and Microsoft, and Kodak to consider making a digital rental camera with this operation and I even suggested it to the Whitehouse to have it for tourism one time. I was simply trying to tell everyone a way to save money for everyone, I felt computers cost to much (mine first one cost me $1,450.00 at Circuit City), its circuit board eventually burned up during a short circuit melting the metal can capacitors to the point that they were bulging from their tops so I disassembled the system and tried to obtain a new motherboard and HP had stopped sales of it so I gave up on that design and waiting now to consider a mini computer which is so small I could put four of them inside my old computer box [Checkout: http://www.mini-box.com/]. I may have went to deep with its deployment before I had it in my hand and that is why I would like to have it in my hand next time before I go full speed into its deployment.

Hi Burgess,
What do you think about incorporating broadcast technology into wind turbine design. Some designs broadcast wireless operational data from wind turbine units to computers that monitor them. This could be a telephone or ISP networks signal as well. Co-opting the strategies of major lobbies, (like the communication industry), is very important. I think a CLEC in sweetwater based on wireless transmission from the Wind Farm units would get the communications lobby on our side. What do you think?
Charles Jones 8.16 am 12-24-08 has replied to your message. I just thought I would mention that the Water Works Board already uses something similar which is a cellular wireless network to read the water meters so they never hardly drive out and look anymore, and sometime soon also Alabama Power Company will add this to the meters they have for business and residential. Satellite is a stretch in wordings, Cellular Wireless simply operates as a demand sequence and is not costly requiring more satellites of specialties like what you are considering and do not need a Lobby Effort at all. For the Water Works Board it was a single man installation using GPS to locate each home and he mapped each street using GPS so all their water lines are GPS Mapped which is no big deal for mapping Wind Turbines. The general rules however is adding digitasl information to the power line anyway which is another less costly matter for using digital information. Wind Turbines have a communication interface which offers full duplex operation and is not a digitalized solution incorporating into the power grid and is separate of the power grid. Models can have a simple cellular wireless attachment that can do everything in full duplex but its up to the installers to decide to go that route as they may figure in a malfunctioning unit could be a problem in servicing under some circumstances when the weather is not cooperative and that is the failure a major decision not to employ those techniques.
Merry Christmas BurgessKJ. I've added a few more pictures and made some changes to the EVFCF pages. Economic problems facing American Automakers has nearly got me worried, if they Bankrupt its a hard road to manage without them but there would be many out of work and many of them could get more involved, so the EVFCF really needs some Equity to build a Capital Asset for itself. If they put their heads together the EVFCF might could begin to make progress on at least 25 Million of the 291 Million vehicles on America's Hiways and at 500,000 per year that would take 25-50 years to accomplish so we really need robotics to tackle this problem to make it easier. I'm thinking foundry and assembly of components, the next phase is converting the Consumer Vehicles with those products because the market is limited in supply of the needs for a better conversion and making these products by company endorsements means a in shop EVFCF operation not a Corporate. Are you into organization in that respect? How should I approach that issue on the site, getting backers and organize foundry's.
Keven, I rarely got a chance to drive the caddies as I was a radio mechanic / commo chief. My vehicle was either a M112 Personal Carrier/Commo Vehicle or a commo jeep later on. The only exception was in Korea when our Company's APC broke down and I had to run the company's communications from the CO's tank from the loader's position. This was interesting because at times he'd be called away and adding an 'alpha' to the end of his call sign assumed his identity and gave prearranged orders and took all replies. Luckily I could read a military map.
Our mission is to educate, organize and represent beneficiaries in the adoption of a Renewable Energy Payment policy mechanism. We are launching a public relations marketing campaign focused on the advancement of a REP policy. By way of gaining broad support for this effort we will be engaging in a three pronged approach. First is to educate and influence the policy makers, elected officials and decision makers. Second is to educate the current and future members of the alliance through workshops, board meetings and presentations. Third is to educate and stimulate the public into taking action through their support and involvement.
The reasons we believe a REP policy will be effective are simple but very powerful. First they are transparent and easy to understand. Second they provide access to anyone and everyone who wishes to produce renewable energy, creating a level playing field for producers, individuals and businesses of all sizes. Third they provide no limit or cap on the upside of production, thus allowing a truly self directed market. Fourth and perhaps most important they offer ability to be financed, creating a whole new lending market and a whole new industry.
Stakeholders in FARE include renewable energy producers, individual residents of the state of Florida, community organizations, municipalities, elected officials, ranchers, farmers, commercial real estate holders, developers, manufacturers, non profits and associations.
Our goal is to represent one collective effort showing support for advancing rapid, widespread deployment of renewable energy in the state of Florida. Our alliance will act as a public face in front of elected officials, potential members, community organizations, municipalities, like-minded initiatives, and the media. The alliance will also serve as an information hub, acting as a central source for collection and distribution of news, whitepapers, press releases and member activity.
Our three basic platforms for the REP mechanism are job creation, energy independence and environmental stewardship. During the 2009 legislative session we will advocate implementation of REPs with the House and Senate in Florida as well as the Governor and his team.
Please visit www.FAREnergy.org today to endorse FARE. Or call 888.501.FARE
Hi Kevin, and thanks. I'll check out that web site.
As a one time professional artist, I have a stockpile of paintings. Their sole purpose was to be sold, but no one is buying right now. We're all in a fix.
Hi Burgess and welcome to my network of friends. Thanks for appreciating Andy McKee's guitar playing. He does have a very unique style. Thanks for Paris, but I believe she's wrong about off shore drilling helping us until we find another solution. We're actually years away from seeing anything from that frivolous venture, and most would be shipped to other countries anyway. I only wish that it would get us out of our crisis, but it would make no difference whatsoever. I think we need to get used to the idea that oil is killing us, economically and environmentally and look in a totally new direction. Please keep in touch and have a wonderful week. Ron G.
Hi Kevin. I just joined the Push site today, and am interested in adding friends close to home. I live just outside of Arivaca. I know very little about alternative energies, but I want to learn as much as I can. I am currently taking a class at Pima Communtiy college for Photovoltaic Installation and have found the information fascinating, as well as much easier then I expected.
Good Morning, we are wired for AC but do offer either.
Thanks,
Walt

Great hearing from you Brother!
Glad to have you as a friend! Did we meet on the Energy Party?
As a one time professional artist, I have a stockpile of paintings. Their sole purpose was to be sold, but no one is buying right now. We're all in a fix.

I really got a kick out of your profile headline "I'm and engineer, not a rocket scientist but I know a few". I will be smiling at that for a while. Thank you for the add. I look forward to some interesting discussions.
