Hey Jennifer,

Great tan!

Jennifer, I want to invite you to check out the Artists Round-Up group.

Because I knew of no other way to do this on this site I decided to create the project in the form of a group. Although, at least in it's beginning stages, the group is really more of a roster for artists to sign in and make themselves know to each other and to all those who are involved in the Pickens Plan than it is an actual group. It is possible though, and not unexpected, that it perhaps will sooner or later evolve into being a genuine group and doing and having as a genuine group.

For now though, I both invite and encourage you to at least go and check the group out. Once you see the set up you'll know whether it's for you or not. And if the purpose of the Artists Round-Up group does not indicate to you maybe there are others you know who might be interested. In such a cirucumstance I would, of course, appreciate your telling them about the group.

Thanks.

'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says

Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.

A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.

Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.

Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.

"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."

Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.

Hey Jennifer,
I'm in Winston-Salem, trying to network with people in the area. So far I haven't found many in central NC. I have been working to start up a new company for the last 6 months and Picken's plan came along just at the right time. If you would you be willing to get a group of people together I have a terrific PowerPoint presentation all about practical solutions.

Yes, of course. It is simply the right thing to do ethically, economically and just for personal satisfaction to know we can make choices that have good consequences..
