Without venturing into the 'company confidential' material...Our Growth and Processing Machine has been designed to tackle both phases of the algal cell(growth & cell separation). We have created stackable growth volumes that drain continually into a processing subsystem. Our start-up company believes the Algae-to-Oil discussion has been taken over by "oil thinking" which believes harvesting takes place in one part of the globe, then you have to ship for refining and THEN truck out the product to gas stations to be distributed. Our start-up company thinks this involves a systematic waste of fuel. Algae doesn't necessarily need to conform to these separate processes. We grow, crack and process all on the same footprint. We're based in California and many of the alternative energy partners out here understand the use of Solar to aid the system. We have continually said that the system could work as a subsystem beneath a wind turbine. That is what turned our focus to the Pickens Plan and its foundation in the wind turbine arena. I don't see why the P.Plan crew can quiet any detractors that dislike the interconnection of powerlines to distant wind farms. In my belief, if a wind turbine can be spin optimally in the middle of nowhere, then you can place an algae station at its base to create the Great Plains version of "above the ground" oil. No need to involve the wind turbine in the electrical grid...just truck in the algae as it grows in a remote area.

We think that the progressive move the Pickens Plan brings to the discussion is paramount to changing America's understanding of our own 'Energy Potential'. Why can't we make more ENERGY here in AMERICA with the resources we have now? Industrial Algae Localized Production is just another gear in the machine but an attractive piece when viewed as a sister-system to the wind infrastructure that has already been discussed.

Thanks for your time, focus & energy...

Separate document: "Ratio of attic air volume to interior air volume" to generate enough Passive Solar Heating to maintain 74 Degrees During Winter Months.
Here's is a Document which could help you determine if solar would work for your home,
RATIO OF ATTIC AIR VOLUME TO INTERIOR AIR VOLUME
TO GENERATE ENOUGH PASSIVE SOLAR HEATING
to maintain 74 degrees in Winter Months
(2,016 Sq. Foot House) width length
Floor space in house 36' X 56'
Attic Air space 36' X 56'
You Divide 14,112 cubic ft by 2 which gives an attic volume of
(Divide the attic space by 2 as you have two triangles)
Cubic Volume Attic Space --Inside Height
16,128 HOUSE 8
14,112 ATTIC 7
7,056
Ratio of house to attic volume is then 44%
My Mini-storage attic volume to interior building volume is:
building volume is : 19% to 21%
The typical house has double the ratio
of my Mini projects. Therefore it could
produce excessive amounts of "FREE"
heat for the typical single family home.
MAIN BUILDING BURLINGTON VANCOUVER
LENGTH 95 X 145
WIDTH 55 X 74
HEIGHT OF 27' and 21'
INTERIOR VOLUME Burlington 141,075
Vancouver 225,330

ATTIC VOLUME Burlington
Vanc/Mon/MV
Burlington & Bellingham
LENGTH 95' 145'
WIDTH 55' 74'
ATTIC FLOOR TO PEAK
Burl 10' Vancouver 9'
ATTIC SPACE Burl-52,250 Vancouver --96,570
DIVIDE BY 2 (NOT SQUARE) Burl-26,125 Vancouver--48,285
(Attic is two triangles Spaces)
RATIO/BUILDING INTERIOR Burlington ------Vancouver
TO ATTIC SPACE 19% 21%
CONCLUSION: MY MINI STORAGE USED 21% OF ATTIC
CUBIC SPACE TO BUILDING SPACE AND FUNCTIONS TO PRODUCE
AN "EXCESS OF HEAT" TO MAINTAIN 74 DEGREE'S OF INTERIOR
INTERIOR TEMPERATURE EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS.

Hi Tom. This comment relates to added information placed on July 22, 2009 and is as follows: Even a Heating Engineer would have trouble calculating the energy storage of “one cubic foot of static” air mass at 80 degrees or 100 degrees in said space, as it would change from second to second as all conditions changed.
The heat energy generated and captive in the interior space of the attic will literally heat the interior volume of 141,075 cubic feet to 78 degrees (Plus) on a normal winter day. The exterior walls a 12” thick and has an R-27 rating and the attic ceiling is 12” of fiberglass batting. There are no openings from the interior of the building above the closed doors on the first floor.
On Saturday the 14th of November, 09, I went to BARRON Heating/air Conditioning Company to inquire if information is known as to a method of calculating the amount of Btu’s collectable in 26,125 cubic feet of air contained within the attic space?
Mr. Gary Lee's, a certified Heating Engineer, answer was very logical in that the ability of any specific “Cubic Foot of Air” to hold energy changes every second and the fact it has produced excess heat, above and beyond the amount need for the last 25 years indicates the “Volume and btu’s” are in excess of what is required to maintain 74 degree’s or more.
Mr. Gary Lee’s information is “spot on” in that if it works, even if impossible to “Calculate”, at any one point in time, that my system functions and produces excess heating which is easily dissipated by allowing the extra heat simply to be exhausted from the building using any adjustable/temperature, activated opening to dump excess heat generated.
This takes us to the next stage of the question, how to calculate the amount of attic air space volume and its ability to capture the Solar energy needed to heat a specific volume within a residence typically constructed using or having an attic space:
Next comment will have last of the knowledge-Anachronism 11/29/09

Tom,

The situation is atrocious. We all know the truth, but people because of their very myopic nature need immediate incentives to act fast. I think the organization that I represent can accomplish that effectively and peacefully. If we can e-mail or talk soon please let me know. Let us work toward something that we can be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving,
John

Thanks for the pointer to Dr. Paul Curto awhile back. I did follow the lead, but I guess my search criteria was faulty. I ran across him recently though, and you were right to recommend him.

Thanks again,
Bill K.

Your link in the following paragraph is broken:

A huge help; for those like myself, (not comfortable face to face or good at speaking). Here are links to 2 places that you can easily drop a note to Newspapers and to your congressmen.
For the Newspaper site; What I do is compose a short letter (200 words) in my word program, allowing my spelling check as I’m a sandbox grad, I’ll even cut and paste “with permission” with energy concerns. Copy the letter and paste it in the message box, of this site , which after entering your zip gives you almost every paper in your area. Hit send, & Presto you’re done. Pick a couple of papers at a time and if you could do this once a week you will be helping

Harvest Time

Every seed takes time to germinate.
So too in the fields of the soul.
We must never give up and sow
because the results do not
immediate to our eyes.
Let us wait with patience.
In the right moment, the seeds
have driven in the soil of hearts,
there will produce mature fruit.
Understanding and sow Joy, Peace and
Courage, Forgiveness and Love.
Jesus bless you have a good night.

HI! I am involved with energy and related discussions thus far, this much...

The greatest and most accessible, renewable source of hydrogen and oxygen (NASA SHUTTLE FUEL) is ground waer and sea water and water vapor in the air. I suggest we learn to apply this most powerful form of energy to municipal electric generators and cars, immediately. You separate hydrogen and oxygen from water using electrons to defeat the chemical bond of water (and not the nuclear bond that results in it's own kind of long term disaster.) HHO SOLAR! HHO WIND POWER! VDC separates water into HHO for heat and steam energy.

I do not believe that dangerous internal combustion engine pollution is causing global warming, because I know that the Chernobyl reactor disaster started the global warming (and cooling) problems, and that now, volcanic activity is rising at alarming rates causing further catostrophic and disasterous seismic events. One volcano does the same damage as 30,000 cars and trucks, appx.

Thanks for the email.

Tom do not face the solar panels east to west. It will not produce much electric power. Face the solar panels south if they are fixed to a non moving stand. That does work and works well.
