Haven't been able to get a response from the pickens team on an idea. Maybe you have some pull some where. Assuming the new wind farm is on hold, why not setup a fund to add a windmill to an existing wind farm ? I would contribute to it. My original reason for joining was to increase the use of wind energy !

How was the week for gathering supporters? Any luck with your large group of online contacts? I have had very good results with a letter asking for support.
Hey, that is fantastic. Govt here is favouring solar and around 300 will be out of work in Portland region as no more windfarm towers. Ready supply of workers if you want me to investigate for you. Some of the biggest windfarms are in Victoria. Have pics and all on them if you want. My father is big on windfarms and has done lots of interesting research for his own learning (marine engineer retired). Also some wind farms in New Zealand.
Nice note Doc! When you get a bit of time, the great folks you know would be a huge boost to this team. Thank you for all you are doing. When you hit 100 new supporters, please let me know, we would be honored to have you in the 100CLUB. We do not have a Doc there yet!

When will we ever have a chance like this again, to become energy independant, before we give this country away? Only WE can build a voice strong enough to stop this country from borrowing billions from China to give to the middle east for our oil. It is ruining us - do we have the fortitude and willingness to stop it?
Our new Congress is sworn in less than 10 days, our new President in 20 - they must be told loudly and clearly that we demand action to reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and to invest in renewable energies! The energy sector is the horse that can pull us out of this trough, financially and mentally. As a country, we can become energy self sufficient, net exporters of renewable technologies and ride high again.

The book is half written and I have been attempting to get a publisher interested with no luck thus far. My private editor and I believe that it will take me between four and six months to get it ready for publishing, if I could work on it full time and appropriately compensate my editor. I have other work that is currently paying the bills for me.
I was hoping to get a publisher interested with an advance to finish the book. I do have two possible investor groups (recently found through networking with the PP) with beginning interest, but nothing serious has been firmed up with either one at this point in time.
You could help me with finding a possible publisher or agent, if you have any such contacts. If you are aware of any "green" or other investor groups, that also might be interested, that would obviously also help.
After the book is published many more opportunities will open up for promoting the ideas and solutions that the book presents along with more investor opportunities.
I could also use you personally to review some of the recommendations that I am making for SEE housing in different parts of the country. Obviously, I am very aware of what is working in the North/Northeast. While I have the academic knowledge of what should work in the South and middle areas of our country, I do not have more solid "hands-on" experience that you may possibly be aware of - - directly or indirectly.
Worst case, I will finish writing the book as soon as I can around my other financial obligations and then consider self-publishing. I cannot believe that such an easy and timely solution to the many problems that our country/world is facing right now has not caught anyone's interest.
Thats for the friendship. I am not surprised, as we do share a lot of common interests. Any thoughts that you have now or in the future regarding my first comment on the "Think Tank" group would be welcomed.

Welcome aboard. I can't tell you what to organize because it appears to be specific to where you live. Your town or city may have all the right pieces in place, it probably does not.
One place you can effect the system right away is at the Daily Pickens page.There you can contact your Congress people by clicking on the big red "Contact Congress button in the upper right hand side of the page. This will let you tell all the congress people in your area and tell them that you support the Pickens plan and that you want them to. This is very important right now. They need to know that you are concerned about our over dependence on oil and that they must join us in fixing this decades old problem. This is also an excellent page to find new events and information to help you in your effort.
I am trying to get a meeting with my congressional rep and senators. I have put together a letter with others help and sent it out. I am also trying to affect my city and state zoning laws by lobbying them to change. Anything you can afford to do time wise is what is needed. This problem is big and there is no silver bullet. It will only die by the death of a thousand cuts. Each one of us has a small knife and we need to make our mark.
Each of us has to change our behavior and then change the laws, zoning and attitudes of others around us. If you need help, let me know. I will do what I can though it might not be much. I will help.
