Hi Eric

Glad to connect with you again! Need your help.

I know that we are friends, and you get email updates from me, however, I think this is so important, I am reaching out personally.

I AM CREATING A "100 CLUB"... members that have faxed in 100 or more signed pledges. So many thousands of people signed onto this site and said they would do "anything" or "everything" to help. Here is your chance!

We have the mechanism to build our numbers, we need to use it. Pledges are a very easiest ask- Boone has done the hard work. All we need to do is hitch our wagon to his horse and plow to the finish. I have sent in 240 so far. The office has recieved thousands, we need millions.

It comes down to.... DO WE HAVE THE FORTITUDE to really go the distance on this? I sure hope so. We aren't asking folks to take up arms. But, THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. And we have a very small window to get it done. I would like your help.

Are you able to help us fight for this? Are you in?
Best,
Kim

Just 10 a day for 10 days! For our energy future, isn't it worth it?

I am not suggesting a business set up a fundraising program, for the reasons you laid out William..

What I would suggest is for those individuals who associated with a non profit, church or sports team, kids organization to use the fund raiser as a mechanism to help the organization as well as save those customers money on their utility bills.

Board members are responsible for raising money for their own non profit or community groups...such as Kiwanis, etc. So this would also be good for a board of an organization to look at.

The good thing is that no one is being asked to GIVE anything extra. All customers will save money on their utility bills AND get a free vacation coupon. I do not know of another fund raising program like this one.

Hello Eric:

I've given your idea considerable thought. I will be up front about something that bothers me quite a bit. Ever looked at a telephone bill? Notice how many non-profit organizations and other quasi-government agencies/organizations have a tax tacked on to a telephone bill (Hint Hint)? In Texas there are around 22 taxes attached to telephone bills last count I made. I get sick and tired of non- profits and other quasi-government agencies/organizations raising my taxes, electric, telephone and/or other utility bills or asking for deonations on my bills.

There are many wonderful charitable organizations out there in the world - some that do a lot of good. As a business owner, I do not promote any one charitable organization by asking my customers to donate to an organization on monthly billing statements my company sends out to our customers. As a business, I do not want to be associated with any charitable organizations. I do not think it is ethical for a business to be associated with a charitable organization or to promote a charitable organization.

Look at this way.....if one of my customers doesn't like the charitable organization my business is associated with and/or is promoting, I am being disrespectful to that customer and will most likely not get or lose that customer's business. I'm in business to make money - not to push my personal ideals, beliefs, or desires onto a customer.

In addition to being a business owner, I am also a professional in the addictions field. My professional ethics prevent me from donating to charitable organizations as well.

If I ever wanted to donate to a charitable organization (s), I'll write a check out to them and send it directly to them by U.S. Mail. If a man comes up and asks me for money to buy food, I will not give him the money. Instead I will teach him how to make money so that he can feed himself. I don't want to enslave that person or make that person dependent on me, I want to free that person and make that person independent - to teach that person how to live/survive on their own.

CALLING ALL LEADERS!

We have petitions! "THE PLEDGE" is on the main page.

I think this is the very best tool we could ask for. It is so much easier to get someone to sign a petition than to go online and join the plan as a member.

I have been test driving it for a few days and got 200 signatures rather eaasily. Most folks had seen the ads or seen Boone on the news. Most were eager to sign it and strongly support it. A few wanted to get more info- I handed them a business card with the website. Very few said no (2 or 3).

I hope you can ask all your "friends" to download a bunch of PLEDGES and fax them back to the office ASAP. THIS IS HOW WE BUILD AN ARMY much faster. Millions of signatures.

Thank you for all your efforts. We have a very strong team. Many ants can take the Hill!

Dear Eric,
You are so right and say so many good things. I wish we could get together on some fundamentals. You with an MS and me with 40 years this Christmas in Aerodynamics and Energy which at their roots depend on efficient "utilization". (This a
favorite word of mine.)

I started out contradicting you a few weeks ago. No answer from you. I apologize for my comment's timing and possibly its tenor. For its basic philosophy and my plea for you to use your M.S. earned "bully pulpit", (Teddy Roosevelt), more effectively, I still make this plea, its reasons why, first.

A loving God or whatever one wants to call such uncaused cause of the universe, has provided or will provide all the Energy this world will ever need. Mankind's use of it, so fouled up from early on, it is now thought, taught, utilized if not totally in error, undeniably inefficient. The world with America first is far down a very slippery slope. Let's start reasoning together. (President Lyndon Johnson).

Going to my points of view: The true meaning of words are extremely important for good or evil. (Nazi German propaganda, countered only by the horrors of WW2)

Think, educate, start DOing In that order for the long term. For the short term, in view of the impending disaster, begin DOing all the obviously good utilizations of Energy including the PickenPlan initiated, now. (This does mean after review of the macro economic consequences of the micro economic utilizations ongoing or proposed.)

It is with all my heart and hope that good intentioned people, you and me included, can start thinking and teaching others, rightly on the subject. The oil companies and some paid off in congress will curse us. The ordinary people of the world will come to love us.

Areas needing compromise, some of which I have begun on my own. As on record with Montana Senator Jon Tester through his Missoula office, Energy at its source "Is all the same." (Einstein). As far as I know it is "colorless", has no "alternatives" and is not "renewable" Those words being used very effectively as propaganda by big oil on the one hand and extremist "shut down the world economy" advocates on the other.

When I know some discussions are by people who are well intentioned, I have reluctantly accepted "Renewable" especially when talking about such "Powers" as wind or batteries. I still worry about "Alternative" foisted on us by big oil and when Obama and his ilk talk of spending billions of our money on "Alternative energies " when they are not. Some really terrific ideas and technologies being discussed, BTW.

Please, please lets start thinking, teaching and discussing with each other, and especially our political powers, in correct thus meaningful language. It is so vitally important.

Very sincerely to all,

Galen Calvert

Great idea.I already looked into buying wind power and was excited to do it but unfortunately its not available yet where I live.I know others who have already done this and I am encouraging everyone to support green power production. The city of College Station has no power of its own and I was very glad to see that they are planning to buy wind power in the future. As for savings being past on in any amount to charity well thats always a plus.
Thanks for all your efforts.

Hello Eric,

Thanks for the knowledge. I am currently living in Illinois. However, I will be moving to Dallas at the end of September (The reason why I put Dallas in my profile). I think your plan is amazing. I will go to the website to obtain further information. When I get to Dallas I would love to save money and help others at the same time.

Thanks,

Howdy Eric,
I am all for anything that promotes green energy sources. I stand convinced that we as a society, have polluted our planet since the industrial age began. I just hope it's not too late to reverse the damage done so far. It will take a new way of thinking for everyone to make it happen. We have to become open minded to new technologies, use the resources and technologies we already have to be more green. It will take time, patience, diligence, and determination. But it can be done.
I wonder if the next President, Obama or Mc Cain, will become truely green minded. Not just say what we want to hear, but really act on those words. Put the billions into green research and investments, Build the wind farms and solar panel arrays, deelope new clean fuels, all in a real effort to get us away from oil dependence.
The hurdles I see are big oil companies who are profit driven like the Ferengies on Star Trek. Short term minded, self serving individuals. Then the big corporation controlled politicians, who like the big buck donations of lobbyists and others who have big wallets and are also profit driven for their own end result. Then getting passed the usual red tape that slows action to a snails pace.
Well, I will do my part as quickly as I can, in my own part of the planet. I am planning to go to solar and wind electricity generation on my new 1.2 acre property. If all goes according to plan I should accomplish this by next summer. My budget is the only hurdle I have to overcome for now. But have been searching the web for low cost alternatives. I have found a few. If I had the resources, I would invest in, or create a green company and contribute all I could to going green. Maybe a "Green" Store with all the availalble technology for home owners and small businesses to go green now. Going green isn't a pipe dream...it can be a reality with dedication.

Energy Independence is having your energy source at your home and generating more than you use in such a way that it does not pollute or create CO2, oh, and it is eventually free energy. That is true energy independence. So how do we do it? Solar is the easiest way, wind is good, but complicated. But both together might just make it possible to convert every home into a defensive and protected environment. That is a pipe dream, but some are actually living it off the grid, right now!
What some of us want is to bring those benefits to the average resident and provide it on the grid, with the protection that comes when the grid fails, as it is prone to do, that they can switch over nearly instantly, to storage batteries that will continue most functions and keep the lights and A/C going for hours.
Is it too much to ask to help the elderly that will die in the hot summers and cold winters? Is it too much to show the USA that there is a real plan that can create such a solution for little additional costs? How does someone get Congress to really research and find what we have already found? We must keep at it, not in some partisan way but in an open ended practical way to save our nation from the coming events that could cause the destruction of our Union as a whole or at minimum, as regions within the Union.
Solar energy can be easily positioned on manufactured homes that meet the required weigh load standards of regular housing. Racks for mounting solar arrays can also be used alongside such homes if there is even the possibility that they could not support the systems. Both are reliable and can provide 80-120% of necessary energy summer and winter, depending on their sun orientation and solar days per year. Some need more space, some need more efficiency, but all can do the job within a 12 year time frame. After that, they will have something others only dream about...free energy!
If you have someone looking to refinance, remind them to include solar energy to meet their future requirements and they will thank you for always!
If people had this in mind 20 years ago, there would be less danger today, but efficiencies have not changed much and costs are still very high. So should they wait for higher efficiencies? There is room to debate that issue and we should do it with all the data available. Is Solar cheaper now than other methods to heat and cool our homes and businesses? The surprising answer, is today it really is. Do not get into the cost per watt unless the individual is willing to agree that the cost per watt is carried over for 20 years vs the cost for other sources for 20 years. Apples to apples, solar beats other sources and grows in value as the process continues. Even wind has potential problems 5-10 years out from purchase. Wind generators wear out due to wear and binding issues. Metal fatigues and inspections are required to get the best results. But solar just needs a yearly check and the electrical packages have self-diagnosing capabilities that reduce dangers and potential losses. Compared to nuclear or even Geo-thermal and the results still support the data that Solar is less expensive covering all costs, even subsidized ones. Geo-thermal issues are generally covered in icy days when reserve heating is necessary and do not tell me it doesn't occur, because I have residents whom I discuss this with, that have those systems. With new technology, solar will only improve and so will the others, but looking toward the long term and Solar wins out. Sorry wind...Solar is going to be king soon enough! And to the Geo-thermal crowd, all I can say is that the costs are too front loaded and the system requires very high insulation to work at best efficiencies. Once those costs are absorbed, Geo-thermal can also be as, or more efficient than solar, but make sure you calculate for broken pipes and flaws in construction as some people fail to do. IS there room for all of this? Yes! Still...
Solar workers know they must meet the requirements of 3 national standards to be Green certified at the Platinum level. Can the others tout such credentials? Some can, just make sure you post them too. Gregor Smith gregors@att.net

It is just funny, that I am here on a site dedicated to advancing and promoting wind power. Why? So that people can use wind power and power their homes with clean green (carbon neutral) pollution free wind power.. that is not funny at all. I do not see the joke yet you see... So where does it start getting funny?

But when offered the chance to use it, I turn it down... I need to keep talking about how we need to switch to wind power... it is just so funny, that's all. LOL I need to start a comedy show, this stuff is just too funny.

Meanwhile the stuff that I keep using because our leaders keep telling us we are safe and secure, is polluting the air, the water and the ground, not to mention MY KIDS, with harmless little things that we can just ignore and pretend it does not exist; like mercury, arsenic, plutonium, carbon monoxide, 69 different kinds of cancer causing chemicals and little insee wennsee miniscule things that we cannot see like C02...that poisons our oceans, and creates acid that kills everything and everyone, this is so funny you see, LOL.

I just cannot stand up anymore, I am going to pee my pants... from laughing so hard. Yea, I see that wind tower over there. I see the electricity coming to my house. There is this funny man in a suit offering it to me, at no cost, but I am going to keep ignoring it and him you see... and I will keep supporting my leaders who vote down any renewable energy proposal...LOL, so funny, so funny you see, I have to laugh at my own comedy show here..

I support the huge utilities in bed with huge oil monopolies who feed people propoganda like (CLEAN COAL) and (CLEAR SKIES) until they believe and follow... I have to support these leaders you see...(I see all of this, just like everyone else) no matter what because that is my party, and no one is going to ruin my party... LOL,, so funny,, so funny... I am laughing so hard I am starting to cry.. want to join my comedy show, we can take this on the road... so funny.

I understand...I see just like everyone else sees the man behind the wall who keeps saying; BE VERY AFRAID, do not change... keep everything the way it is... I will protect you. Just give me the power and the votes and let me control you. I will kill everyone who threatens anything that upsets the way it is right now. The American Dream must be protected just as it is. No changes allowed. OH my GOD, what will happen if we change? Those terrorists, this is all their fault, they are jealous of our freedom, that is why we have to invade every country and torture everyone until they confess to their evil deeds...but we cannot change ANYTHING... keep it all the same and keep ignoring or killing anyone who threatens us or my kids in any way... LOL... very funny. this is so good, great comedy show stuff... I could not write anything better.

Just keep the lights on and the TV going, and I am so very afraid of anything new and different... let me keep going shopping, but I will stay away from anything dangerous or risky, including anything like wind... that is new, different or strange..including any company selling it. even if that wind power is better, does not pollute and does not cause cancer. LOL, so very funny, so very funny... I love this... do you see the humor in all of this yet?

Oh, and who cares if my switching to wind energy creates demand for more wind plants that will create US jobs, and keeps large monopolies from exporting all our jobs to Communist China..so very funny, so very funny, I have to laugh or I will die...

We do not REALLY need clean green jobs.. We do not REALLY need to be building more wind towers, cause no one really wants that, right.. cause we do not want CHANGE...That is NOT part of the AMERICAN Dream, as it is not on TV or the NEWS and the Government says we do not need it and the President says we do not need it, and my monopoly highest price energy/utility company says I do not need it. Let someone else do it.. My leader will do it all for me. Some day the world will be a better place, because the government tells me so. I just have to believe and pray and keep going to church... and follow my leader. LOL, so very funny, so very funny... I see said the blind man as he picked up his cane and saw.

My kids will live on the fumes exhaling from our oil burning cars, homes and monopoly utility companies. They do not need clean energy or clean jobs... just keep burning the oil, as that supports our leaders and our troops. LOL, so funny, so funny.. my kids are loving this so very much you see, they are laughing too, rolling on the floor.... cause it is so funny.

Every time we turn on the lights, the microwave or the heater or AC, I am burning up the planet and speeding everything up towards the cliff, driving towards human extinction, pressing on the gas, coal and nuclear accelerator pedal.... so very funny, so very funny, I have to laugh, it is all so very funny...

Wind generated electricity is here, but I do not want it, because it is a "new kid on the block" you see... Wait for another thirty or fifty years, and when the government says it is OK, or my monopoly utility company says it is OK, then maybe...come back then OK? LOL, so very funny, so very funny...

We have plenty of time to burn, to burn, to burn, more carbon, more carbon, more carbon, come back in fifty years, maybe then, maybe then... no worries man, no worries, just slow down and take a chill pill... just talk and quit trying to change things....

LOL I need to start a comedy show, this stuff is just too funny.

Eric, I understand your frustration about people being sceptical of switching to an alternative to Con Ed, or any other energy source in New York. You have to understand that New Yorkers are 100% aware of everything. Even for all of the complaints we have of our #1 energy provider, at lease there are few disruptions or glitches, and when there are service interruptions, they don't last long. This didn't happen overnight and for any New Yorker to just jump onto some "new kid on the block", they need to see a track record, or someone with clout endorsing that product. There is too much fraud in this city. I know that is disheartening but until there is a clear, tried and tested alternative energy company--NO true New Yorker is going to give you the time of day--in fact they may put you on the "Don't Call" list, if you bug them too much. LOL! That is why I want to build a model energy plant, so others can actually come and SEE alternative energy at work. You can't sell what we can't see. That's it, unfortunately. I won't buy anything I can't see how it will work, would you?
