Happy New Year Shelby,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Shelby, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

Hello Shelby,

Your very close by being in Sweetwater. Did you see our fire works last night? Our community celebrated it's 25th anniversary.

I am interested in knowing more about wind energy! On my page I have copies of a rough proposal for my community, Meadows Place, TX.

Do you have a template, handout or compiled facts sheet on the costs to construct "1" wind turbine from start to finish; land, labor & materials?

I will present proposals to city council and want to provide accurate facts and figures. How does connection to local power grids work?

If you cannot help me with the information I seek, can you direct me to someone who can.

Thank you for your time, efforts and consideration.

Rand

My name is RoseMarie LaCoursiere, new to PickensPlan. I am introducing myself in hopes you will visit my page, and click on a new group I launched yesterday PICKens Me! ~Jobs!

I am looking to attract employers and talent to create matches..I'd love to see you there, and perhaps it provides you a venue to spread the word of alternative energy in driving some of your contacts to PICKens Me! ~Jobs!

All the best to you, and many many more projects!

Shelby,

Approximately how long does it take to build the foundation, assemble, and erect one turbine?

Welcome to the Pickens Plan. We want to invite you to join the Great Plains for Pickens Plan. Our region will be the center of wind energy production, jobs, and economic development. We hope you’ll join our network and give the Great Plains a stronger voice in Washington to advance the Pickens Plan.

On Promoting the Industry:

Education - teach my students and adult friends. I get so sick of excuses and brick walls being put up, usually due to ignorance.

I created the "Texas-Nebraska Energy" becuase I want Texans to support ethanol (please understand I feel E85 is a minimal issue but important to Nebraska) and I want Texans to teach Nebraskans about wind.

I hava friend that owns a wind company - it use to be called WindPlus - its changed now - anyway I hooked him up with my sister (a farmer) in Nebraska but the community of Scottsbluff Nebraska was not receptive to a wind farm idea.

It was a huge disappointment - my friend - now with a bigger company in California was stunned at what that community turned down.

I will also write my gov representatives.

Shelby,

I live in Dallas but am from nebraska. I want to promote Wind in Nebraska. My sister farms there and tried to start a wind farm 4 years ago but her idea was shot down by the community. I sent a friend request - if you dont mind we could keep tabs on promoting wind/energy and what not.

I also created a group "Texas-Nebraska Energy" it would be great for you to join and provide input on the discussion board.

The West Texas Wind Energy Consortium is the region -- an alliance of stakeholders throughout 100,000+ square miles of West Texas -- school districts, counties, ranchers, farmers, economic development corporations, chambers of commerce, small business, heavy industry, wind developers, colleges, etc. We educate ourselves about the industry and educate the industry (and our policymakers) about West Texas. We represent the West Texas region throughout the US and in Europe to recruit workers, manufacturing, and project development to West Texas. We handle constant media requests on behalf of the region (ABC, CBS, Weather Channel, foreign networks, etc. We conduct town meetings and local strategy sessions for thousands of West Texans every year. We sponsor several conferences in West Texas and elsewhere beneficial to the region.
