Hello Julie, These new rooftop mount home wind turbine kits that I am building are great. The profile is pretty sleek and attractive. The system is actually a home appliance and doesn't really stand out much more than an antennae, chimney, or satellite dish. This makes a nice clean way for homeowners to get into the clean energy movement. The systems are inexpensive, easy to install and scaleable.

These systems have wind/solar built right in. The wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, we designed a system that is attractively priced, that gives an even flow of energy year round. Wind power scales down in size to be perfectly feasible for a homeowner sized system to provide power for their home. Many customers have found it easy to become wind turbine customer/dealers. They are able to do this with no further investment and they see how easy people are to get interested.

I have used them to save money on my electricity costs and Julie, you could too. The systems pay for themselves in 5 to 10 years depending on your local wind resources, and they last for 25 or 30 years before needing a rebuild. Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. 2 is OK and anything over 2 is very good. Let's double check your wind resources are good.

Hi Julie,

Hi Fifi,

I've founded a group here at the Pickens Plan called "Musicians fo a Better Future". We're just starting out, and we'd like to arrange performance events in as many cities as possible around the world to promote clean, renewable domestic energy. We need people in Ohioto get on board. We could really use someone to moblize young people, because they are the key to our success.

Most of the people we'll need to make this happen aren't musicians either. We'll need organizers, promoters, media reps, event staff and so much more. Please have a look at our group and see if this might be something you'd like to do.

Thanks for your time,

Rev. Jake

I am looking for micro wind companies with a track record ( not easy to find ) that I can invest in, any leads would be greatly appreciated.
I have found one in N. Dakota
Promana ticker PSLU did a reverse split and its assets were taken over via a merger by Crownbutte Wind Power on July 31st 2008, Crownbutte board replaced Promana board July 31st 2008
Crownbutte completed a private placement Aug 1st 2008 to build, own
and operate an approved 200 megawatt wind project with 134 turbines in
southwestern North Dakota estimated cost to build $30,000,000.
Project value upon completion and before tax credits is $50,000,000.
CBWP has been consulting for and building wind power farms in North
Dakota since 1999.
Crownbutte Wind Power

Mandan, ND 58554

Stock in new entity is available ticker CBWP now.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

hi julie. glad to be friends. this could really work if everyone can get on the same page. i believe this will ease the need for the u.s. to all but leave the middle east. first the only way this will work is to drill. i'm for all forms of alternatives. but we can't replace all our vehicles fast enough. 14 million barrels a day is what we use for transportation. we can't come up w/ enough alternative vehicles fast enough. that is why it is so important to drill. we don't need new refineies we need to put our own oil in them. the amount of oil used basically isn't going to change just come from a different place HOME!. and remember the government would have to get on board. instead of windfall taxes give the oil companies a reason to drill and drill fast.everyone tells me well we have this car and that car that are alternative. but there isn't enough. but, all sound ideas i'm sure. we import approx.13 million barrels a day. by doing this it would reduce our imports by 35%.[ last month imports were 65%] thus $245,000,000,000.00[a day] stays in our econmy. much less bring the price of oil down to $40.00 a barrel where it should be w/ inflation. this is more of an economical crisis than oil. why? the dollar is worth $ .75. and after bailing out banks, mortgage companies, and maybe the biggest motor co. in the world we are broke. if this were to work you would have to put the onus on the oil companies. the way we did w/ all industry in ww2. tell them this is what we expect. that way a 25 barrel a day plan will work. this is a crisis.if you are worried about o-zone this is not the plan for you. but let me remind you at the rate the world is cutting down trees we aren't going to be able to recycle the co2 we as humans emit. the best way to help is contact your state reps. and senators. tell them we have to drill. i have never been more disapointed in this country than when congress went w/o a vote. i know this sounds a little drastic but drastic situations are only taken care of w/ drastic measures.it will lead to the quickest and most effective way of fixing our situation. and by doing this it will also involve a lot of conservation of the oil we use. and while we are doing this it will also give us time to refine the technology towards eliminating the use of oil. then and i truely believe then replacing all of utilities w/ alternatives is a smart move. we have to walk before we run. i don't know if you have the same views as i and i'm willing to listen to any twist you might have to it. i just want help w/ this problem to me it seems logical to some i'm sure not pratical. but there is no simple solution.the key is let's stay away from the left and right and find a place in the middle. this is the most devided our country has been since the 1860's. and you know what that was. agaiin thanks for your interest. if you have any questions ask if i don't know the answere i'll find it . dave

Hi Julie,

You have a very interesting proposal and one we will definitely consider. As you know, we will be opening a new plant in Ohio soon and this may very well work out for all concerned. This will not happen overnight so let's see how thing come along.

Stay in touch and keep an eye on the Mariah Power site to follow our progress. Thanks for your contact and ideas. We appreciate your input.

Hello Julie,

I often see comments on the pages of people joining the Pickens Plan movement where they want to be involved but have limited knowledge of where to start and where to look. After spending time in Europe and seeing what many countries are doing to secure their energy independence, I think that I can share some pretty good ideas and information with you. The European countries, especially Germany, Denmark and Spain are leading the way on that continent to renewable energy.

As we all know, knowledge is power. This power has for too long been out of our hands with emphasis shifted to different fronts by our government. Whether we are Republicans or Democrats, it doesn’t matter. We are all Americans that face the same problems caused by high oil prices. T. Boone Pickens is leading the charge here in America similar to the path many European countries have been on for 10-20 years. Most countries there have always had expensive fuel. I wish everyone could take a trip to Germany to see the solar and wind initiative that they have fostered in their society. It is mind-boggling! This commitment was jump started by a place called Freiburg, Germany. Denmark started with a huge program in clean energy from wind. These are websites that I would recommend seeing where you can read about these programs and see examples of what they have done and are continuing to do - examples of where we should be heading.

1) The Solar Village – Freiburg, Germany. See: http://www.thesolarvillage.com/
2) The Folkecenter for Renewable Energy – Denmark.
See: http://www.folkecenter.net/gb/overview/publications/
Under VARIOUS, read: The transition from Fossil Fuels to the Renewable Energies
The whole website is excellent and you could spend hours there.
3) Google: Samso, Denmark. This is an island off the coast of Demark that is completely self-sustaining. http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_kolbert
4) Read the article written by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. titled: “Global Warming: A Real Solution”

Our issues with energy aren’t just about lack of oil to go around, they are on a more grand scale about the issue of Global Warming as well. What you will see in the above references is information that deals with a quest of becoming carbon neutral. Not only can our government and businesses move in that direction, individuals can participate as well like they have in Germany. In Germany and Denmark it is all about tax laws that encourage every homeowner to become an energy producer. (Germany has 19,000+ wind turbines and millions of solar panels). The incentives make it worthwhile and at the same time direct these countries toward energy independence.

Unmentioned above are recommendations for a few good documentaries to watch – “Saved by the Sun” a PBS NOVA video, and “A Crude Awakening” by Basil Gemlpke, et al. Americans needs to mobilize and pressure our government representatives both on the state and national level. The Pickens Plan is a good place to foster discussion and share ideas and PUSH this plan! Good luck in your quest for a better America….. Lee
