Hey buddy. I like the new? profile pict. Yep, still plucking away over here, trying to put the Plan into action in my sphere of influence.

The featured list is it's own animal. I'm humbled to be on it, but continue to contribute with or without (as many do). I haven't been my usual blogging self lately due to long hours doing other things, but I have a number of things to discuss when I get a break. Perhaps this Sunday, while I wait to see my Pats play in London...

It's good to hear from you.

I'm getting serious about the political party at onlinenap.ning.com Need about a million people to join. Just for fun - because that is what a party is.

I envy you Monte. I have not even had time to rebuild a rototiller. Now it's time to improve home insulation. Lots of plans, but can not seem to prioritize. Spend all my spare time sitting in front of this thing trying to redesign civilization and I just can't quit. Stupid stubborn I guess.

You saw who you were and it did not kill you.
What is it like on the other side?

Best wishes.

Hello Monte,

I have read your post on the government we deserve. I think for something like this, time and attention needs to be focused on the change-makers. The vast majority of people want someone to think and do for them. So, I tend to focus my efforts on the 20% who are making things happen. It reads like you are in this group.

I run a portal called http//www.historyiscalling.org whose mission is to gather and promote the vision of change-makers like you.

I recommend that you visit, post your vision and we will help get the word out to the network to join in on your idea.

Drop me a note

Monte,

It is good to hear from you, even if it is over a nut job.

We hope the white water rapids become calm and negotiable very soon.

You may either ignore the nut or report him to the plan coordinator.

I was giving him encourgement in his efforts to begin a new company and finally had enough when he became too argumentative.

Keep the faith,

Monty and Debbie

In case you've stopped in for a visit and are reading the comments left here by others, I have to note that regarding the most recent comment left by Anthony John Cafferio II....I have no idea whatsoever on what exactly he is referring to. I did, though, go to his page where I asked him for clarification.

Monte,
Sorry to respond so tardy...
I am certainly not an authority...
I would say that Abilene is behind the curve on the ecconomic downslide.... but there are not many jobs posted or in circulation that I know of at this time. ( In my circles )

The reporter News - noted that real estate in Abilene was holding its' on - and is predicted to suffer more in the next 12 / 18 months.
( Might be a good time to buy in the next few months)

The oil field is seeing a small resurgence - but nothing like the 80's. One of my friends was recently laid off - as a safety coordinator with one of the wind farms also - I think everyone is careful these days about "over hireing".

Personally I love Abilene. Crime is low - people are freindly, food is excellent. Great schools and churches...Not a lot of night life - just small town events. No traffic to fight and the sunsets are incredible... lots of sky to enjoy. Seems like the health care industry and education are stable here.

I actually live at HENDRICK HOME FOR CHILDREN here, so I have seen Abilene at its best - in the way it supports the children in this institute.... I really can't think of anything bad to say about it*

Don't know if you will get rich here --- but there might be a good chance you'll be happy!

I haven't been much help at all - but looks like you have gotten some good feed-back other than me. I wish you and your family the best! Reb

Monte,

I'm an attorney in Abilene. I would say the local economy in Abilene is strong compared to the rest of the country although it is not what it was before the downturn. The credit crunch is hurting the real estate market and low oil prices are hurting many local businesses. Please feel free to contact me in the future.

Monte,
Since my husband and I graduated from Abilene High School during the 70's, our prespective may be a little 'old.' We moved to Austin and spent the last 30 years there, moving back 3 years ago. Abilene is the same size because of the suburbia flight to Wylie, Potosi and other areas. Economically there are issues but not much different than other towns. There is some push for progress but very little tolerance among some people when it occurs. Is there a particular industry or area that you are interested in finding out about?

Well, we actually live in the country closer to Nugent. As far as my thoughts on Abilene, I think it's doing well. It is growing, but still has that small town feel about it. It is facing problems just like other cities, but they are dealing with that. I.m sorry I'm not alot of help we don't experience Abilene on a daily basis.

Hi Monte, it's me on the pp site! Thank you so so much for your continued support of pushing my vision. I went to the round up site and read comments about my video. It's been such a struggle it made me cry. I made a video of the whole "Move Energy Move" song and am trying to see if I can get it uploaded. don't have a clue why I can't join groups or add friends on this site? a new computer is in order! Hope to see you and Joy in Fayetteville....kris

Thanks for friending me. Your comment about the ROUND-UP pic is interesting. I understand the nostalgia. I actually picked it for the symbolism of the wind mill. When I saw it I thought it was a perfect metaphor for where we are today.

Riding another sort of ROUND-UP with ideas and ideals as old as the techology we have not yet used to our advantage. The wind, sun and earth have always been our willing and available partner in powering our planet and empowering its inhabitants.

I hope this trail leads to the destination of our hearts and dreams for a peaceful and healthier planet for our children.

Stay focused...be prepared for the long fight...in the Pickens Army no uniforms, bullets or bombs are required. Your voice combined with millions of others is a potent weapon in defeating an enemy which has claimed victory over us long enough.

Thanks for joining the ROUND-UP
Please share with your network and add a comment about the concept at the site. It's an idea in formation and everyone's input is sought and welcome.

We’re very happy to have you riding with us. With you and 1.4 million others on this ride, maybe we’ll actually get this thing done. Keep you horse watered and your powder dry.

hello monte have the concept out here in L.A. CA i see this as selling a system to the work out clubs that powers the grid... we just sell a modified bike and collector that sends power back into the grid and get the gyms to purchase it!
