Hi Americaneeedsalan!
The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.
Hi ANP!
Please congratulate Karen Nardella for being invited to the 100CLUB this morning- for faxing/sendng in more than 100 signed pledges. She is a Picken's hero! Her story is on the 100CLUB Group page - read how she accomplished it!
thanks for the friend invite. I'm looking to diversify my inherited farmland in Penn. to provide clean gas, wind power if it's viable. There is a huge water table beneath the surface that will eventuallly be drained off and used to cool turbines in a new hydroelectric dam they are proposing in the area. There is also a possibility for "slag" or shale usage. Whats important to me is drawing these resouces and THEN creating eco-kind(a flooded preserve) space, a home that sets the standard for using all the resources that the land has produced and creating an area for a social program such as a camp for underpriviledged children to spend time learning about everything the land that God gave us can be safely and effectively used for their futures.I feel it is imperative to show the Pickens plan as not only a means for immediate energy, but also a social and eco-kind plan.
am helping Ken get the word out to the folks on his list.

Hello,
Just wanted to take a second of your time to invite you to view the solar solution equivalent of the PickensPlan.

I wanted to let you know that I have finally entered my plus point minus point list on the pickensplan.com site evaluation project that I recently started.
I invite you to look this project/entry over and perhaps you will have your own plus point minus point list to add to the project. The more lists that are added by the members the more that there will be revealed. And the more that is revealed the more accurate we can become in adjusting this site to continually be more streamlined and more effective in its mission.

Hello Ron,
Thanks for the friend invite.
My area of concentration is the use of bio-diesel and ethanol for transportation. The concept that the use of these fuels would cause people worldwide to starve is false.
There are many options for production of plants for these alternatives and many non food source plants that can and do grow where food crops cannot. But should a farmer accidently be able to profit from the process...then good for the farmer.
Geothermal is another gem worth looking at. There is a process to using old depleted oil wells to tap geothermal energy that would be very beneficial to the production of electricity.
Don't know alot about the use of lightning but will take the time to find out more.
Glad to have minds likes yours addressing a problem we all share. In this quest for alternative forms of energy there will be no single path.
Hi. My name is Mikki. I'm a special ed. teacher of k-1 self-contained and resource students. I'm also going to college to get my master's. I'm also an old geezer-get senior citizen discounts. Will do what I can to help get us out of the foreign oil pocket. I don't have much personal time.
Thanks for the welcome. Another factor in terms of cost effectiveness might be making it movable (I hesitate to use the word "portable", given that a small fleet of 18-wheelers might be required initially) so that it could be placed in the path of more storms to harvest the energy. Eventually (as in "30 years worth of experience and development later") a distributed collection system might be engineer-able.
Thanks Americaneedsaplan! Hold on tight for the storm and take care! Take a look at the groups page for sceintists, I think there is one, you may be able to join and take a leadership role. I actually think there are a few, may want to take a look at the comments under each group. Have a Windy Day! Sam Delete Comment
Hey Ron,
I keep getting comments that a 3-blade generator will not produce enough watts for my wind generator car idea.
I have in mind something with more blades such as a car alternator , but 2 to 3 feet indiamenter. The unit would be sealed off under the engine bay with only blades exposed at the tips inside the funnel. Traveling at 60 miles an hour with the wind passing under the vehicle should produce a lot more wattage.
What do you think?

HAPPY TRAILS!
Oh Sam....it's just a name to get folks to take notice!! Sometimes we need to get peoples' notice in order to carry out our plans....and I know that the American people can solve this problem, not the elected leaders to the U.S. Congress and/or the president. We are the government, not them ---- just take a look at the U.S. Constitution. We just need to get all folks involved that are bright, intelligent, have expertise, and some financial ability to get this problem solved. For example there may be several times that you come up with great ideas (from your own viewpoint) that I would not see from my viewpoint. It's as Obi Wan Kenobi said the young Luke Skywalker --- it depends on your point of view....
Glad to have you! AAAAHHHH, America is not all screwed up, we still have a chance, just got to get some good folks invoved that love America, are willing to show it and stand up for it! It is goinna be alright, hang in there and don't give up on her! Take Care! Sam
Hey Ron,
Thanks for looking into my idea.I have been told (by experts0 that an electric car needs tens of thousands of watts and that a 3-blade wind generator will produce only a few hundred. It only seems logical to me that if a wind generator can produce enough power for a whole house at 15 miles an hour, a design should be in order to produce enough for a car traveling at 60 miles an hour.Take a look at a comment on Mike Pickens page by Paul Billardello.
I only have this picture in my head, so please feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks again for looking into this, please keep me informed.

May the sun burn bright and the wind blow hard.
Gustav is keeping AR very wet today. That's why I'm able to sit down at this computer at this time of the day and stir up some trouble.
