Unfortunately, I think it is about the money. TBP reportedly took a billion hit on his bottom line (whatever that means) with this economic downturn. He has his own focus, which I think is working with government. I think government (federal, state local) is going to be too busy or distracted to any work on turning this country around. I rolled by the Pampa offramp on 1-40 over the holidays. I personally wish he'd put up a sign at the offramp, saying "Future Home of Pickens Windfarm--join PP" At least that would be something. anita

Wind4me,

I saw your question in wanted patents, etc. group.

I have been following PP for some time. Also I have kept up with activity in the groups.

Now that the "porkulus" bill has passed, TBP will get his lions share as we always new he would. The people that were drawn together in this common interest lost out.

My hopes for the good people that did join together is that through all the discusions, ideas and connections made, perhaps somene can benefit.

The Pickens Plan has already become a Ghost Town as a commuity.

Yes, we could sell our anemometer easily or rent it but we will be moving it to our next potential wind farm site. Yes, we do have a great amount of wind here on the coast of Maine but we do have to prove it to our potential investors. Right now, the data is being sent to our Analysis team in Washington D.C. that is putting together an Initial feasibility study and building a model of what type of turbines that will most fit coastal Maine's environment.

Merry Christmas! Thanks for getting that out there for us, I am already starting to notice volume coming from Wind4me.com. We need all the help me can get. We really appreciate it. Thanks. We purchased the anemometer from NRG Systems in Vermont. The anemometer is a 60 meter tower kit. The cost of the kit was $13,8??.00 The total cost to erect it and the anemometer kit was around $15,000.00

btw, there will always be temporary slowdowns with any project. However trust the energy crunch is on many minds... Speak with people in your community, get them inspired to join us here. It's critical to get support behind Obama before the first 100 days. Obama has pledged to Pickens he will work towards 100% elimination of our reliance on foreign oil within 10 years! This is a powerful inspired team, they need our support!

Many companies are quietly moving forward - the media failed to cover an important moment in geothermal energy in Utah in the recent weeks.

Grab some reigns and help us on the welcome wagon ;-)

We're still here, just moved into the congressional forums, If you feel lost, others may feel the same way, too... mind helping guide folks to our congressional district forums? That's where we are converging to move forward district, by district ;-)

I tried to tell my elected officials about going slow with ethenol, but it fell on deff ears. They are trying to please everuone. As far as wind power now is the time to push for it. It will create jobs and reduce polution, among other things. If we don't go while we are excited it will fade away like the 70s when we had toe so called oil shortage. I am not to concerned with Pickins, but we need to start something and get rolling, with or without the government.Maybe co-ops around the country. We have to overcome the fact that some countied don't allow towers. This is a major problem.

Hi Thanks for your question. Here is the statement Boone has made in regards to the wind farms. Please be assured we are all moving full steam ahead to see alternative legislation passed with the New Administration.

Wind Farms

Army:

I understand there is some confusion about our wind project in Pampa, Texas. The current economic situation is having an effect on our project, but my commitment to wind energy as a cornerstone of the Pickens Plan has not diminished one bit. The economy will recover, and we will be able to provide 3.5 million new jobs in the wind sector over the next ten years.

But that doesn’t change the focus of the Pickens Plan: We have to reduce our dependence on foreign oil through the use of wind, solar and natural gas or we will find ourselves in this economic ditch permanently.

Here’s the statement Mesa Power put out the other day.

“The capital markets are problematic for everyone, and we are keeping an eye on them. We are committed to wind development projects and believe it’s a viable business for us. The capital markets may lead us to slow down a bit but we are still going forward with our wind business,” said Jay Rosser, spokesperson for Mesa Power.

I just gave this responce to OPEC wanting to lower production-you can read the whole thing by going to my home page and seeing my disucssions. "Ok then some one or something has to turn it off and back on but you risk having the well fail and having to drill a new hole-$48 is cheep insurance. We are very slow to learn the game of energy. We need money for projects. Even Boone is having problems getting money. Utilities are moving against renewable energy- prop 7 and 10 both failed because utilities lied about the benefits. It is our turn!"

I think he had a good idea but, I agree what now. The problem by giong it individually is we are not permitted to have towers in my county. I guess we will still go with coal' till we get the neuclear p;lants on line. Obama seems to be for installing lines for a grid.

I just saw a 2-page newspaper detail of China's 560 Billion package; couldn't find anything that much of this $$ is for constructing wind-turbines (??).
Re.: ethanol: yes, and no.
Personally, I would even go with - - short-term - - burning coal to change the trade deficit to a positive $-amount.

We are not having any problems with funding so far but we were not dealing with any of the organizations that are in trouble. We can see changes but so far we have been lucky....

Maybe this will help China to get out of the "Severe Polluters" classification. We also need to motivate China (by not buying from them?) to at least Mercury-strip coal before burning.
How about writing a 1-page (China, BP, etc.) wind-power (electricity) report and I'll post it at "THE RIGHT STUFF" at ElToroEXPOSED.com - - - and I'll connect it to your web-site (- - just give me exact URL).

AMSC Licenses Proprietary Wind Turbine Designs to Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries

what am I sugesting that Pickens buy this company to save it from it's self
I don't know enougth about it. It is an interesting company that is loseing money
the company recently spent a lot of money buying a piece of paper from another company.
AMSC had a lot of orders from China I hope the orders were filled or does Korea have to fill those orders?
