Please read my latest blog... HOW TO TURN A PLEDGE INTO A PETITION - everyone understands petitions. This is the help we need to build this army. We can not let this narrowing window of opportunity slip by. When will we ever get a chance like this to really effect change again? I hope you can help. If you get 100 signatures, let me know, it would an honor to invite you into the 100CLUB.
I was able to get 300+ in the first 4 days. It is an easy ask - Boone has done the hard work. Everyone wants to get off of foreign oil. We are creating a paradigm shift- a completely new way of thinking - about energy in this country. We need more support. ARE YOU IN?

Hi Allen,
Sorry for the slipup.
. We will be releasing the music video shortly. All my friends and group members will be the first to receive a link to it.
Keith
Hi Richard, Thank you for responding to my invitation. Alert all your friends at Pickens plan about the Music Video "Take This Oil and Shove It," and how they can be among the first to be linked to it.

Hi Allen,
I'm not used to spelling Allen in your conventional way as my middle name is Alan. I'll be changing that to Axel soon as to become a junior.
Anyways, we have that happening here in Spokane and Seattle has the same problem, but they havent done ANYTHING. Please check out first Spokane for Picken's Plan, then Pickens Plan Seattle. You're ex military and the word is action. Bug the buggers till they get off their butts abd do something or flat out quit. Make up cards or hand bills. Costco makes cards really cheap. Football is big down there, and it's county and state fair time. After you read the two sites you'll get the idea. I'm from Spokane and if I lived in Seattle...I'd move. Great shirt!!!
Richard
"Sir" Allen, Anyone dressed up like that deserves to be called sir. I preceded Anthony Roberts in Charlie Co, 1/72 Armor, 2nd Inf. Div. Korea by 30 years. I had no choice except to enlist and pick my MOS and duty station or fail and go to Nam.
I hope you have a great Picken's Plan Group in Nebraska! Ours in Spokane is chugging away with a "CAN DO" attitude and leaving Seattle's groups in our slug slime. We have reguliar meetings, pass out Pickens cards where ever we are able (kids too) and write letters to our elected officials.
I was once a republican living in the liberal side of the state but in moving to the conservative east side, I've seen the GOP at it's worst. They vote agains't Vets bills...please don't get me started as I'll rip out what remaining hair I have left. The only republicans I'd feel good voting for are long dead, Theo. Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Once again, I love that get-up!! Richard
BS that Obama has not taken any P.A.C. money. He also has 8 lobbyist working on his campaign. Taking notes is the best way to tell if someone is paying attention. I am voting for the candidate that has the best long term strategy. To many short sighted policies have landed us where we are today.
Got your e-mail this morning. It is not a lack of interest, but a lack of time. There are some of us here that are running a business dedicated to supporting the renewable industry. We have put years worth of work into this product and the wind industry and are bringing developers, turbine manufactures and utilities together to enable wind development in Nebraska and across the nation.
This is our business and our life. The interest is not lacking.
No, didn't get to see him in Topeka...but heard it was really good.
School probably stopped some of the enthusiasm as well as the Olympics. Happens. Momentum will fire back up once it starts getting cold and heat cost so much. I do agree though after reading some of these blogs....are people just bored and wanting to throw out opinions? I personally can't stand blogging. I like open, face to face communication. :) so one won't see much from me.
Allen, I had no bubble (it doesn't mean something didn't burst!) and probably should have been more clear. The picture is one of those graphic prototypes first proposed in some Middle East country to operate traffic lights out in the middle of nowhere. I'll tell how old this is, I first saw a similar photo during my 1991 Gulf War vacation on a chamber of commerce-like brochure. When I found it on this sight I figured western NE was a good analogy. Your post reminds me I need to provide more detail when I'm daydreaming. Thanks. Jeff
Oh yes, the trails are great. You can take the MoPac trail almost all the way to Omaha, (they're working on the last section now) another to Beatrice. Several dedicated trails like from Holmes Lake to Downtown along Antelope Creek, along the levee of Salt Creek, around the perephery of Lincoln, all around town on the marked streets.
Ya know - I just remembered biking all over Lincoln when I was in College. I remember going underneath 27th and Normal.
I would bike from 48th and Old Cheney to Campus in 25 minutes - and park my bike at the building my class was in. I need to start doing that again.
I live in Coppel Tx now - a sub of Dallas - we have nice wide streets but its dangerous only cuz no one bikes to work - they all work in Irving, Arlington or Dallas.
I heard the bike paths improved in Lincoln - I saw an overpass at 27th and Hi 2 last year.
Allen,
One of the other guys is going to the Pickens meeting in Topeka the week you're canoeing, and I thought we'd wait for his return. Is this the park near Ashland?
Jeff
Hi. I have not seen any such bumpersticker but I have seen logos that would make good ones. I am from Texas which is traditionally a red state but at this time it has turned pink. There is a website: electoral-vote.com that shows where the states stand and I go to it every day. I consider myself an independent but I did back Bush because I believed his promises. I agree with you about McCain, he is OK but I cannot resist Barack's enthusiasm for change. I am reading Audacity of Hope and this man is so intuitive and his message transcends age, race, religion, gender that it I am so confident he is the one to take us in an exciting successful journey. By the way, one reason that I got on the Obama bandwagon was the passion of his supporters in a conservative state. I work at a high school and the students had a mock election. Barack won by 83% and I was shocked into considering looking into his platform. I was smitten within a few days. Beth
Alan, my brother works for NPPD in a high level financial position. His worry is the burden Neb taxpayers will have for the construction of transmition lines. As a public power organization it is in thier charter to deliver electricity to business in a responsible manner.
Responsible manner - that can be twisted and misinterpreted.
This hs cuased NPPD to be stand-offish from ethanol plants - these plants require new transmition lines in rural areas. If the ethanol industry collapses (farm susbsidies and incentives cut) then Nebraska as a whole is in trouble - NPPD would have waisted $5 billion in transmition infrustructure.
What he says we need - is for the public to push for the Fed Gov to provide, support, back and for long term - subsidies and incentives.
I agree with your comments Mr. Schreiber regarding the Iraq war. We are depending on foreign oil way too much and we have had 30+ years to do something and the government has not. They have gone to these brutal dictator thug regimes (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, etc) and begged them for oil, and these people are living like kings and brutalizing and killing their own people at the same time. Alan Greenspan was right!! It sickens me to see what the Republican party has become. I was hoping that Ron Paul would have become the nominee instead of McCain!! He stood up for the true value of the Republican Party!! But another thing that saddens me, is that it takes a serious catastrophe or crisis to get the government to react. Also, it takes the media to gripe over-and-over to get these lawmakers up in Washington to do their jobs!! It makes me sick!! As a soldier, I see it all the time with these soldiers coming back from that blatant h***hole coming back mangled, physically disabled, and scarred with PTSD then they come back to fight a bigger enemy at home, their own government, trying to make them go back unfit (physically and mentally). I have seen it way too many times and it horrifies me. Luckily, I am one of the fortunate that was placed in the Warrior Transition Unit and I am glad to be there!! I have been diagnosed with PTSD and moderate Traumatic Brain Injury pending a medical evaluation board. I tell you I am an independent, and I am very proud to hear former soldiers standing up to this government and standing up for what is right, especially standing up for the future of this country and this plan is the best I have seen especially from a leader of a oil firm. Hope that we can chat more, it sounds like we have the same beliefs and ideas in common!! Anthony

I am very happy to see someone as high profile as Pickens drawing attention and support, hopefully many more high profile people follow his lead.
