Welcome to the district--I'm happy you're here. I'm particularly interested in your "Energy Education Links." We need to get this out! Will you please post it on our main page? This is what I envisioned with regards to the "education" group.
It all began with a formula and a hypothesis and now Gem Energy is proven power which emits a very low frequency and produces several forms of energy, including Alternate Current, Direct Current, and Pulse Power…!
G.E.M. Technologies has completed 4 rounds of testing on its Self-Sustaining Energy Process and has now proven Gem Energy to be safe, clean, and sustaining. Further research and testing is required to further define and evaluate this breakthrough energy process and delivery system.
By tapping into this inexhaustible unified field of energy we not only revolutionize the world's economy, we restore the Earth's atmosphere, water sources, and air quality, while simultaneously protecting and preserving all forms of life on our planet for future generations to come...
G.E.M. Technologies is seeking potential partners and/or investors to fund additional testing & prototyping for the development of this technology. Omega Energy Cell are visionary products. Once designed these energy cells will be inexpensive to reproduce, will never need recharging, and will produce zero emissions.

CALLING ALL LEADERS!
We have petitions! "THE PLEDGE" is on the main page.
I think this is the very best tool we could ask for. It is so much easier to get someone to sign a petition than to go online and join the plan as a member.
I have been test driving it for a few days and got 200 signatures rather eaasily. Most folks had seen the ads or seen Boone on the news. Most were eager to sign it and strongly support it. A few wanted to get more info- I handed them a business card with the website. Very few said no (2 or 3).
I hope you can ask all your "friends" to download a bunch of PLEDGES and fax them back to the office ASAP. THIS IS HOW WE BUILD AN ARMY much faster. Millions of signatures.
Thank you for all your efforts. We have a very strong team. Many ants can take the Hill!

I have found that most people out there don't consider facts when it comes to both our energy future and global warming. My biggest fear is where all this chanting of "drill baby drill" will lead. So many people think that once we open the Alaska and off-shore oil POTENTIAL we will be free and clear and there will no need for alternatives. This can then lead to our return to complacency and we will be back to where we are now. Although there are many FACTS I would like to share, the biggest fact that needs to be shared with those who don't have the facts is that Alaska (one or our lagrest oil POTENTIALS) is really an equivalent of about 1 to 1.5 years of oil. We use 20,000,000 barrels a day and the mean estimated quantity of recoverable is about 8 billion barrels. This comes to 400 days of oil. Some will say we have ten years of oil up there and yes that is true because it will take 10 yeas to physically pump it out of the ground. To compound this situation it will take 7 to 10 years before any drop of that oil is available. We don' t just go there tomorrow, drill next week and in a month we have oil. Please spread the facts!

Thanks for the head's up on the EERE site. Their link off of the DOE site is also not working: http://energy.gov/energyefficiency. Could be a web issue they will address soon. For now, I updated the link on EnergyGreen to go directly to the right section on the DOE site: energygreen.us
I like the language in the act for changing the CAFÉ standards based on cost per gallon of gasoline. It does take into affect the technical viability, which is vital to many industries. That way it would not be across the board but segment specific. That makes it a good economically friendly proposal which would garner broad support.
Jelena - This may be 10yrs into future - but - Have you read this article on giant leap for SOLAR energy out of M.I.T.? “…Until now, (8-5-08) solar power has been a daytime-only energy source, because storing extra solar energy for later use is prohibitively expensive and grossly inefficient. With today's announcement, MIT researchers have hit upon a simple, inexpensive, highly efficient process for storing solar energy…”
Jelena, what part of the Great Wall are you on in that picture? That is so amazing I went two years ago to China for a few months and for something that you can almost see from space I must say that it lived up to its reputation. Anyways I wanted to talk to you about your involvement in the Plan and the ways you thought best to organize. There is a huge need for people like us to take the energy future of our country into our own hands and ensure that through the use of renewable energy we cast off the chains of foreign oil and build a local economy that creates jobs and a better future. We must do this by getting our voice heard and that is why I have created a group to try to muster the energy of all the people passionately involved in this movement to try to craft a message to take to the DNC in Denver by educating and demonstrating our message. The convention is approaching quickly and there is a greater need for us to figure out an effective way using grassroots organizing to present our message effectively to keep building up Boone's army. Here is a description I have made for the group I would love to get your input:
Going to the DNC?
This is a non-partisan group for all of the people who are passionate about ensuring that the issue of renewable energy is not ignored during the Democratic National Convention and that there are opportunities there to demonstrate and educate others on this issue that matters so much. Please join if you are attending the events in Denver or have any ideas as to how we as a movement can organize together and make energy independence an even bigger part of the convention.

'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says
Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.
A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.
Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.
Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.
"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."
Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.
Thanks for all the background work you've been doing. Homer Holloway has been contacted and will be attending the meeting. He will be prepared to talk about the wind farm as much or as little as we have time for and we're excited to have him. I hope people are not expecting a formal type of meeting. We expect this to be a pretty open discussion of just how this chapter wants to be organized, what the main topics are, etc. Although Utah may not have the same wind resources as the midwest corridor, wind is a major part of the plan and we should become more aware of the possibilities.
Thanks for all your interest and support. Maybe you would like to think about helping to organize the next meeting? Yes?
I look forward to meeting you in person tomorrow evening.
Looks like you picked better weather than we did to go to the great wall!
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must implement drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT
