ANG is based on molecular matrix interaction with the methane molecule to decease intra-molecule spacing, thus the "absorbed" title. The tanks are very low pressure and very light weight. Great potential for use in odd shaped storage spaces.

Be sure and go by the Mazda booth and ask them about their CNG Bi-Fuel Mazda 6. If you go to this web page for AB 118 , at the bottom of the notice it tells you ways to log in to the audio cast of the meeting via the web or by phone.
ANG is in use on small vehicles, like three wheelers, as a light weight storage system. I have yet to see a viable large volume ANG tank in a daily used vehicle.

Ed,

Thanks for your kind words. I consider myself only an apprentice shoe shine boy. If I lived a thousand life times, I’m not sure I would ever be worthy to stand on the shoulders of the many selfless giants who came before me. We have so much more to learn from them. What saddens me, is the fact we are losing them by the thousands every day.

Hi again Edward!

Hope you are still here.

Here is my gentle nudge...

Petitions are the fastest way to ramp up our numbers.
Many hands make light work. Sre you still working toward 100? We really need you.

1. Download the pledge/petition :

http://media.pickensplan.com/downloads/PP/pollingsignupsheet.pdf

2. get them signed

3. fax them in to the 888# at the bottom of the pledge, asap.
(you can also scan/email them or send them -info at the bottom of the petition)

If you are able to get 100 we would be honored to have you in the 100CLUB. We need millions to get the clout we need as a grass roots organization! Please let me know how it goes.

BEST to you,.

Hi Edward

The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.

PLEASE,
Kim

Hi Edward

It has been a while since we kept in touch last!

We are now over 1.2 million suporters. We will need many more if we are to beat back the damn lobbyists and special interests. Can you help with the pledges? Every American needs to sign on. With pledges we can fan out and reach so many. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. I was able to get 300 signed in the first 4 days - everyone wants to to get off of foreign oil. We may never have a golden opportunity like this again!
ARE YOU IN?

Best
Kim

Hi Edward

Glad to have you here. Thank you for your offer of meaningful support for this historical effort! Need folks to help push pledges, and Pickens U. Look forward to hearing from you. 400,000 is not 1 million! Can you get some pledges signed?

Best,
Kim

Pickens Army,

There may be relief in sight. We need to track this legislation and make sure the American people are protected as it moves through congress. This could open up the conversion market if we hold our representatives and senators feet to the fire.

Here is a piece of legislation that proposes to deal with the natural gas regulations on the federal level.

Senator James M. Inhofe of Oklahoma Introduces Drive America on Natural Gas Act and we need to show our support. This is a first step on the road to energy independence.

Below is the contact page.

Here is Senator James M. Inhofes website

http://inhofe.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=32cee86f-802a-23ad-4e25-8ceb2615ebae

The regulations of certification are addressed in a way to open up the market. Finally!!!!!!!!!

David Baker contributed this section.

We have to drown out the foreign oil Lobbyists in Washington. Collectively We have to become the VOICE for changing our reliance on foreign oil, by Vocalizing our Support for the wide scale use of Alternative Energy Producing Systems.

The ACTION we can take Today is to influence our LEGISLATURE. We must change the thinking in Washington. This is accomplished by CONTACTING your Senator, Representative, Governors.

The following links to Websites are one way of Contacting Congress. I find these links to be the quickest at getting to the "contact web form" used by most of Washington.

The problem at present is the rules in place are designed for fleet operations where grants are available to local and state governments to help with the sky-high costs.
The OBDII (1996: The OBD-II specification is made mandatory for all cars sold in the United States) rule can be modified so a conversion system can use a separate emission alarm system. This would reduce the cost of each engine certification. A standardized system that can be used across all gasoline engines would allow millions of vehicles into the conversion stream.
Even CARB is seeking relief from this onerous rule so the state can certify autos for the private motorist at a reasonable cost.
Here is an excerpt from the NATURAL GAS VEHICLE RESEARCH ROADMAP undertaken for CARB in California.
There needs to be a national focus on after-market conversions—it would be nice for $ to go towards developing more conversions for more platforms.
Conversions are available domestically, however they must be certified for use by EPA and ARB in California—the latter, a reportedly challenging process that must be undertaken for each engine/vehicle model combination. In addition to uncertainty of market demand, different safety and emissions certification standards, along with different incentives and mandates, serve as barriers to foreign light-duty NGV models in the US

Ed,

The comments about stiff-necked mega main RR operators is true up 'till the usual shuffling about becomes a declared National Emergency... About 3 seconds after the Federal Executive Orders on Motor fuel rationing are made public. Remember, they are not permitted to think expansion, just cost-cutting; they have to let stockholders do the thinking. National Emergency will change the picture PDQ.

The portions of rail extensions that directly feed these mains are going to come about as a natural course of traffic build, if emergency does not force action. One adjustment that will help immediately will be to exempt all surplus or redundant (to normal traffic levels) additional spurs, passing tracks & branchline rehabs, and rolling stock too, from taxing. Tax & insurance liability give stockholders heartburn.

I am just a buff, by the way. First years at "R" Street "Wye", '43 - '45 in Sacramento, then 15 years 29th & "E" in Sacramento, Steam, Electric & Diesel tutoring. Climbed aboard EsPee 4460 in summer 1958 as it was pulling from Burlingame, rode 16 miles to 3rd & townsend, got in trouble... Worked hands-on Wilmunder's 3' gauge Antelope & Western volunteer, 1959-1962.

Talked my way into 2hrs solo boiler watch on Amtrak 4449 trip in 1977, at San Luis Obispo. Sort of off the record, but I knew enough to get two hours of stationary boiler seat time while crew went for beans after dark.

Managed rail equipment storage yard 1979 to present, at South Lake Tahoe. Passed GCOR test in 2002, held rules ticket until March 2003. Not quite a "Rail" as you might define it.. Never employed as I had physical limits of age and washed out on safety details during hands-on at Sac City College RR course. (walked backwards a few steps and Rules Instructor Joe Armstrong asked me to leave the property)

Back to reality: One part of proposal put forward includes Shortline Rail Operators as responsible parties locale by locale, this gets most corridor rehab and branch/warehousing infrastructure out of big operators' purview. Interchange point are going to be the places where engineering must be handled with wisdom.

Second element is the role of the respective states' National Guard. ALL the individual state NG Commandant shall be tasked with re-commissioning the Railway Operating & Maintenance Battallions, initially with enhanced (GCOR) book learning for existing truck personnel. Most will pass the test, with rank step incentives, for example.

What is important is for ALL HANDS to face up to reality of Peaking Oil Challenge, and need to include expanded railway capacity & reach to (I will say this as often as necessary) provide Guarantor of Societal & Commercial Cohesion! Boone Pickens is a wise and soft-spoken man, and I believe he will get in touch with AAR, Transportation Union, Short Line Association, etc. and get some discourse underway before the rationing talk gets things revved up.

Restated, this must be a local based initiative, and it is important that individuals concerned with maintaining mobility get hold of the Rail Map Atlas (spv.co.uk) or other map source for their respective locales' legacy and current rail corridor footprint. The town and county planners need this mapping at hand as this crisis deepens, and it will!

Big shipping like Wal-Mart, FedEx, UPS, US POst Office, big truck companies too, need to figure what rail links they can work with, existing, and what branch corridor must be rehabbed to keep connected when they have to park more & more of the trucks. In many cases, mainline passing tracks can site a container crane over an existing secondary track.

Again, worth mentioning for the doubters of renewable generation: "ELECTRIC WATER" by Christopher C. Swan, (New Society Press, 2007). This is for the executives and engineering dept. of the big railroads, and the shortline execs too.

This is just so much wishful thinking until shippers wake up to Peaking oil, and get scared enough to do some of the legwork suggested here. Same for State Military Departments, they need to be part of getting numbers up in rail cadre personnel. Individual County Planning people, FEMA, Homeland Security, US Services all branches (logistics personnel) railway employees too! One wonders about people like Gov. Richardson, othe activist officials that surely must have seen Rep. Bartlett's power point on Peaking Oil.

I shall continue writing on this subject- "Grampa's Magic Carpet Made Of Steel"... as I am able.

Edward,

We do not have a specific brochure for station owners. Our royalty payments are pretty standard. The best first step may be figuring out where you would want a site and then speaking to the account manager at Clean Energy regarding the details.

Hello Edward,

I work in sales at Clean Energy alongside Shaunt. The information that he told you is correct. Are you looking to buy property in the area? Have you been to the CE stations in Long Beach?

Hi Edward,

Many regulations and incentive programs have to be better shaped to induce market expansion. In the coming weeks we can identify specific regulations and incentives that are needed to assist the market that will create explosive growth. I have attached a summary and study performed for the California CARB that addresses many of these problems.

As for wind and solar the same problems exist, the cost are prohibitively high making a payback period almost the same as the life of the product. That must change so the manufactures can enter a high volume arena allowing the unit price to decrease.

We must educate ourselves so we understand what is needed to develop a strong market for the alternatives. Government incentives can take the market just so far then it is up to Small Scale Entrepreneurs to expand the market through sales.

See Small Scale Entrepreneur Group for attachments for further information.
