PS, what does this have to do with the Pickens plan? Do you own an oil well or something?

Responding to Mike:

Mike, this is not how it works. I am surprised that this mispercetion continues. The average, lower to milddle class wage earner pays over approximately 45% of their earnings in taxes to various taxing agency. The typical trust fund legatee pays 20% on all passive income generated throught the accumlation and utlization of wealth someone other than the legatee generated (their grandfather, their great grand father) without lifting a finger to work. Our system rewards sloth of the idle rich. This is the most reprehensible system of taxation in the world, and middle class wage earners should not be such bleading hearts for the idle wealty who dominate the economy and own most of this country, Kirk Franklin, Senior Director, Global Tax Matters (Company not disclosed)

Wise words from a Friend.
This says it all.

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy
out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another
person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to
anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody
else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to
work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the
other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody
else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is about
the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Thanks Clynton. I have E-mailed our Senators and Rep. Carter about supporting the Pickens Plan and the Stimulus plan but I guess a lot more of that will be needed. A year ago I read where Texas State Government had planned on spending about $5 billion to support constructing lines to carry electricity from wind/solar farms to urban areas so that may be an area we can focus on being close to Austin. I can't understand why the natural gas vehicles and home filling stations cost so much but the Honda Insight hybrid may force the price down on competing technologies soon. See ya later, Ron

Whoops....here's the link:

I still haven't figured out how to make this a clickable link. I followed the instructions and used the link icon on the comment box tool bar...but nothing happens. Maybe we can go over it again sometime.

T. BOONE ROUND-UP

Hey Clynton
Just sailing by on my way to the ranch and thought I'd give you a wave. Stop by and take a look at the new discussion group we posted today called
The T. BOONE ROUND-UP and let us know what you think of the concept. I would appreciate your comments, suggestions and input. It has to do with a simple funding mechanism for adding conservation education to our K-12 core curriculum.

I hope all is well with you and hope to see you at the ROUND-UP!

Regards,

Hey Clynton! Appreciate your welcome message. Particularly. I found your list of actions to consider very helpful. I dream of the day when our great country is completely energy efficient so that we're not mortgaging our children's and even our grandchildren's future. I'm also seriously considering the now vacant leadership position in OH District 06. I need to give serious thought first. Again Clynton--thanks.

Good evening Clynton. Thanks for the welcome note.
I am looking into the Picken's plan as time permits and will be following the progress while traveling through Guatemala and Mexico until mid-March.
Is there any chatter here regarding Brazil's successful move to alternative fuels and complete independence from use of foreign oil? Thanks again, Catherine

It was never really buried. It just lost public interest because oil was cheap. Same thing as alternative fuels, until global warming became a factor. Now may be a good time to use our advanced technology to do something about our dependence on foriegn oil. Coal, charcoal, or anything that has carbon in it can be used. I suspect that even carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide could be used in this manufacture. Sure would be a way of stopping the increase of greenhouse gases

I just ran across a little known article called bergius hydrogenation that comverts 99% of carbon into gasoline. It was how Germany and England made their own fuel during ww2. From everything I could find on the subject, it is cheaper than gasoline made from oil. wonder where this technology has been since ww2

Thank you for the welcome, Clynton. As I am currently between jobs, my focus has to be on getting employed right now, but if I can get into a position that will help further America's move to energy independence, I'll be jumping at it.

Thank you for your welcome Clynton. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I'm a real estate agent so I work all weekends. I just got home a while ago -- I will do what I can, but I really don't have any time. As I have time I'll read through the sites you recommended.
