I notice your comment about our servicemen. On our webpage there is a special page for the Fallen Heroes of South Dakota. Please at least check it out. - - http://www.sdwe.org/SD-Fallen-Heros.html
It would be wonderful should someone establish a simular Scholarship for the survivors of the Fallen Heroes from Ohio. A national effort for a scholarship fund would be spectacular.
I have a question about your profile info, did you really mean a 150MW turbin?
That just seems mighty large, perhaps I a misunderstanding the rating.
After all, I am ONLY a physical type designer, the "MAGIC" of electricty eludes me. (I am scared to death of it)
I grew up in Putnam county and graduated from O.G. in '85. I've been living in Findlay since '97. And yes I've seen the windmills in B.G. several times. I think all the towns should have some to counter electrical costs.
Thanks for adding me to your friends list. My husband and I have been dreaming Geothermal and wind for more than 30 years. We have a strong gusty northwest wind almost all year round. Is AEP doing anything with wind for their clients?

I just read you comment about off shore drilling, which I agree with, but what about the proposal in Ohio for 6 days of free sick leave. If we want to have green jobs in Ohio we can't be paying people not to work. One of the commentators complained that Mr. Pickens was buying his wind turbines out of the country. I am sure that he did this because it was cheaper and better. It's going to take more than wind turbines to get us out of this mess.
I'm all for renewable energy, but our problems go even deeper than that. As Americans, we gotten so used to the good life, that we expect to have everything without working for it.
Regarding your e-mail "A message from B. Barley to all members of The Ohio Pickens Power on PickensPlan!"
Moving our country away from oil will be messy and will not occur over night. However, I wonder, do you believe the solution is as simple as playing Robin Hood and give everyone $1000 that you've take from the rich oil companies?
Hi, Mr. Barley, in July you left a message on my page about a 25kw system that we installed in Apalachicola, Fl. You were correct to assume that the entire system was not shown in the picture. It would be nearly impossible to get 132 panels and myself in one shot. And I would surely not be able to make such a great pose! Hope that the sun keeps shinning and the wind keeps blowing...Independence!!!
Please take a look at the executive summary on my page and join the group "Paradigm Shift Institute". We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
If you are already on the grid don't worry about batteries. Put up as many panels as you can afford and use your own power during the day when the sun shines. My new house built in 2007 runs eeverything----even the refrigerator---on the PV panels. I built far from the electric poles. I own a generator, but I havent run it for several months.
