Hi William,

Need your help. Would like to produce a Green Revolution Show featuring you and other state leaders around the country promoting Pickens Plan and the Nat Gas Act. Recently we did a show with that that great Ohio Group and Congressman Time Ryan. This Wednesday we did a salute to the 7 California Cosponsors. Think both show went well, and plan on following the same format for awhile. If you are available, call me; 760-961-1312 or jwnobles1@verizon.net.

Thanks,

John

Haven't been able to get a response from the pickens team on an idea. Maybe you have some pull some where. Assuming the new wind farm is on hold, why not setup a fund to add a windmill to an existing wind farm ? I would contribute to it. My original reason for joining was to increase the use of wind energy !

We build true Zero Energy Lifestyle homes with the latest U.S. Oak Ridge National Lab DBMS report defined "Asymmetrical" ICF system (google that; see Figure 2 type 3 on the Chart 4). It is 246% more energy efficient than a wood/stud wall. Then we add a Geothermal/Solar Radiant energies management system which includes a Fresh Air exchanger instead of a recirculating HVAC unit. Our Technology Demonstrator display home is proposed for a new subdivision that is 100% infrastructure complete and ready for the Zero Energy model-home/sales-office construction. The developers will fund 80% of the total cost of the Technology Demonstrator Display home. We are trying to raise the remaining 20%...about $300K. That is a small "entry fee" to be involved in this $20Mil subdivision project. The developers have two follow-on projects as well, one is a Zero Energy retail/commercial MALL on 7.7 acres. And the other is an entire COMMUNITY with multiple multi-family Townhomes, shopping, services, restaurant, and entertainment structures, an assisted living facility on the Ideas Institute model, and several single family homes. Think of this as a Dell Web community on steroids and totally Zero Energy. IF you have appropriate contacts, please forward this information, Thank You ! ! So that's who we are, thanks for your contact. Don www.ZeroEnergyLifestyle.blogspot.com for photos, too.

Bill,

I did add you as a friend. My meeting at the OED this morning was not as successful as usual.

I met with Lugar's chief of staff, Lane (I forgot his last name) a month or so ago. It went OK. It was hard to keep him on track but that was my fault. I did not go into the meeting with specific things to ask for. I just wanted to get a feel for Lugar's position on wind etc. They will support but not invest much political capital.

I know almost everyone at Indiana Office of Energy and Defense Development. Indiana will continue to build more wind farms because of our central location to MISO and that transmission line serving PA, NJ, OH, and other locations east. It appears the proximity to the transmission lines is much more of a factor than the wind velocity.

I will be going to more OED and INWEA meetings in the future. I only live an hour away from Indy, down in Brown County. I am glad you are committed. It will be fun to share information.

Hello William,

In addition to reaching out and recruiting new and current members of our respective districts/regions, I'd like to invite Picken's Plan members to Palomar College, San Marcos,CA on April 22nd, 2009 (Earth Day) for an environmentally themed event. At this event, I would like to organize a body of Picken's Plan, clean & green driven members dedicated to District 49 and surroundiong areas. For 33,000+ students, this will be the first of many events taking place in district 49 that I can personally assure our members.

Anyone interested? I would be able to provide AT LEAST one booth (table, chairs, and possibly canopy) so we can provide information, as well as representation for the Picken's Plan for sustainable and environmentally efficient energy alternatives. I can be contacted at either my Picken's Plan page or at tellesaj2@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your committment to a brighter and cleaner future!

Hey William

While Boone's "Dream Team" (at the Energy Conference tommorrow) comes at the problem from inside the storm, we need to kick up the dust around the perimeter. We need to get our numbers to many millions before April 1st Virtual March.

Hope you can rally your friends and district to help by putting the recruiting effort into overdrive!

As you well know William, here on the "PP" we have come together and circled our wagons to join with T. Boone. We're working and helping to push Boone's viable plan to get our country independent from foreign oil. It is truly a worthwhile cause and it is most definitely not a case of just doing something because we don't have anything else better to do. Accomplishing energy independence is imperative because it is not only about our survival potential in the short-term, but perhaps more importantly, it is the long-term potential consequence in consideration for those generations that follow.

On the 17th of December 08' at 11:23 am T. Boone Pickens emailed the PP army. Within the body of that email he stated the following:

"We use more energy to heat, cool and light our homes and offices than we do to power our factories or even to drive our cars and trucks. Our country can save over 1 million barrels a day just by making our homes and offices more efficient. That's 1 million barrels we won't have to import from overseas. That's a big step in the right direction."

-Boone

So while we may not all be able to go out and directly get involved with wind farms of CNG (compressed natural gas) conversions....we do happen to live in structures that are (in most cases) consuming far more energy than is necessary. Therefore, by causing our existing housing to be more energy efficient and by insisting that any new housing be constructed so as to be super energy efficient...we can collectively effect a dramatic impact for the cause of energy independence and a blow against adverse climate change. And, very importantly, it does not have to take a long time. We can begin right now! You see, it is not only about gaining energy independence for our country, it is also very much about gaining energy independence for the individual and for helping to usher in a lifestyle, across the breadth and depth of the general population, that is SUSTAINABLE over the long-term.

Because none of can do it alone...four key concepts to keep forefront in our thoughts are....collaboration, partnership, mental flexibility and integrity. The multi-dimensional and multi-layered task that we have at hand is not only gargantuan in scope but it is deadly (a potential civilization killer). In order to overcome such a magnitude of adversity we are going to have to come together, seek out a point of common agreement and direct our collective energy and effort in an unified manner to accomplish a clearly defined goal. If we remain disbursed in our intentions and attentions and individuate form one another and behave as independent and arrogant tribes....then it is inevitable that we will lose across the boards. If anyone finds this difficult to accept then I invite them to look at our world history and note the many civilizations that have already come and gone. What makes our current civilization any different? ( never say never and never say it is not going to happen here or it is not going to happen to me because it does happen and it happens every day). The reality we have at hand is the result of so many of us insisting that "it is my way or the highway." Or, assuming the attitude of, "I'll just go and watch this play out from up in the bleachers." And, as I think we will agree...the reality we are now embroiled in really SUCKS!

Things have a way of moving slowly until it is too late. And at that point it IS too late.

I strongly encourage you to join the SEE Super Energy Efficient Housing for Existing and New Homes Group. And if you don't join, I encourage you to at least drop in every now and then and check out the develpments.

Thank You for your time and attention.

Congratulations on the honor of being chosen as a featured member!!

Please stop by and congratulate James Mastronari - our newest 100CLUB member. James is the district leader of NY-08

James writes....."I've definitely surpassed the 100 member goal. I'm rapidly closing in on 200. The way I've been able to sign up the number of people I have, has been through a mix of successful campaigning at work and utilizing some of my social and professional networking sites. I would encourage others looking to help build our army to start in places such as those Via a MySpace, Facebook or LinkedIn blog or comment you can definitely generate considerable interest in the Plan. It is also important to remind others that if we can get each person to sign up just 5-10 additional members, our ranks can really begin to swell. Also, 5-10 new recruits is a relatively easy number to achieve, and will take others a minimum amount of time to make happen!"

What an honor to have folks like James building the support for this plan.

Thanks William, If we can get just one fax, web based comment form, or letter to the President or Vice President there may be a possibility that he may direct the Secretary of Treasury to take action on this idea. He needs our support and he needs funding to make the 10 year goal of Energy Independence from middle east oil he as set happen. Also, the Select Congressional Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming is another route besides your representatives. Please, at your discretion, if you want to pass this idea to others and encourage them to become friends on my web page do so. Thanks for your support and help.

Hi William, Here is a way to help and give tools to all of us for getting more RE projects started. I have been pushing for the sell of US Treasury "Energy Independence Savings Bonds". Savings bonds are normally purchased in $25 increments. This gives a way for just about any American to tighten their belts just a bit by skipping a meal at McDonalds or Pizza Hut and buying a RE savings bond to support a project. I need help pushing this project, I've faxed and emailed many in Congress/Senate already. My email is ke6cvh@yahoo.com. Here is a copy of a fax sent to Nancy Pelosi yesterday:
27FEB09

Honorable Speaker of the House Congresswoman Pelosi,

I am an Electronic Technician Chief in the US Navy with 27 years service stationed overseas. I’m outlying an idea to assist and work with current plans for achieving energy independence. I urge you, as speaker of the house and the driving force to form the select committee on energy independence and global warming, consider for discussion and introduction into the house US Treasury Savings Bonds for Energy Independance.
In WWII America sold war bonds supporting the war effort. When young, my mother told me her primary school raised enough money through bonds to build a tank to support troops. I am impressed with the patriotism and purpose of our greatest generation that accomplished so much.

Selling energy bonds for RE (Renewable Energy) development would lower foreign oil imports and assist with the complex problem of funding. Bonds sold as “Energy S” could support new solar trough plants, “Energy W” to support wind farms, Energy “H” to support hydroelectric plants, Energy “T” to support RE transportation such as electric bullet train routes powered by RE, Energy "C" COOPS for small communities only needing a small quantity of turbines, and Energy “I” for needed infrastructure high voltage power lines to the RE site. Bonds will have the project name and include an artist’s perspective of the project and an American flag. President Obama had great success with the internet during his campaign. In a similar manner, using the internet, energy bonds could have a website listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” could purchase a bond $25 or higher. Simpler methods of payment such as “PAYPAL” and credit cards would be available and after an electronic purchase is complete a color print out of the bond is available with a follow up of the bond in the mail. The website would limit quantity of projects for each category until funding is complete. After a project becomes funded, a new project will be available. A tab on the site will show history and status of previous projects. Purchasers may take great pride in “collecting” and displaying bonds of various RE projects and participating at different levels of financial support. Solar trough plants in the multi-hundred MW size capacity with molten salt energy storage in California, Arizona, and West Texas can provide a major portion of electric needs. North Dakota has potential to support 1/3 of our nations electric needs in it’s class 4 wind zone areas. There are plenty of suitable proposed wind turbine farms now around the nation to significantly increase our RE if funded. Mid sized hydro-electric has not been used in America to it’s full potential. Following the example of our neighbor, Canada, it would provide a significant increase in percentage of electric production. Developing all three we could provide the majority of our electric and heating needs through renewable energy in a "New New Deal" fashion allowing natural gas for transportation as T. Boone Pickens is working for. Bullet train routes have proven a viable alternative to commercial domestic air service and when powered by electricity provided by RE suppliers America would be in the forefront of world technology. Example, I heard of discussion for a commuter train from Denver to Colorado Springs. Such a route built as a renewable energy project with charter requirement legally requiring to only purchase electricity from available renewable energy sources would be a model example. There are many train routes, city bus systems, and government vehicles that can be converted to run from alternative energy sources and fuels. Jobs created would bolster the economy, lower trade deficit, and strengthen national security. I would take great pride in print outs of bonds with graphics of each project I supported and many other Americans would also. The energy bonds could have tax breaks. BLM lands may be a viable place to start for some projects.

I contacted the US treasury department and was told that the marketing department for savings bonds closed several years ago. I was told there would be problems because savings bonds are at the federal level while the projects will be at the state and local level. I disagree and believe that these can easily be figured out in the way of grants to the state and local level using money from the bonds for those specific projects. I was told to check out auctions on the www.treasurydirect.gov website and found them to not apply to citizens wanting to buy savings bonds to support a cause such as energy independance. I was told by the treasury department to look into CREB (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). I found CREB to be large scale funding that a citizen would not be able to participate in as a US Treasury Energy Independance Bond would provide. If given the tools to participate directly, the power of the citizens of the United States to help achieve energy independance could not be denied. Americans mean well and the Energy Independance Savings bond program will give citizens the power at their level to make it happen. If marketed through a web page, commercials, and to federal employees the word would get out and participation would spread like wildfire.

Mr. Paul Gipe, a resident of Bakersfield CA, an author of several books about wind energy, and recipient of multiple awards as a pioneer in the industry since the 1970's has put a letter I wrote to Senator Dorgan on this subject as well as an older letter I wrote on wind COOP in JAN07.
