Here is what I am working on -
I have found that petitons are the best way to spread the word AND sign up supporters.

Here is HOW TO TURN THE PLEDGE INTO A PETITION!

I find it easiest to take one pledge, cut off Boone's lines under the pledge and add a sheet of lined paper under the pledge instead. I put NAME - ADDRESS - EMAIL across the top and fill in the first line to set the format. Most are more willing to sign where others have already done so, rather than the single pledge at a time approach. Everyone understands a petition.
I ask if they would "sign this petition in support of T, Boone Pickens energy plan to get us off of foreign oil?" Hand them the clipboard so they can read it. I do not require the signers to give me their email if they are reticent - don't let that be a deal breaker - some just do not want to give it.

Check out the 100CLUB group page to see how others have accomplished the task. (it is the first goup on my page) When you send/fax in 100, let me know, we will gladlyinvite you to be a member of the 100CLUB. Your leadership on this will inspire thousands!

There are over 150 people in the pledge challenge that I know of right now. Surely, there are many more that I am unaware of, as it is in many greetings. Those 150 willl bring 15,000 new members. If each brings just 5 friends, these 150 will be responsible for 75,000 new members.

This is the approach that works best for me - I tried many. Hopefully, this will encourage you to take the challenge, too. CAN YOU HELP?

When will we ever have a golden opportunity like this again?

Of all the people I contacted, you are the only one who nearly gets it. Mr. Pickens owns a company that invests in energy development. You and I cannot invest in that company because it requires a minimum $5 MIL to get in. There are many blogs that are criticizing his plan. Some of those blogs point to and alleged to use the 'masses' to build political will to support his investment company. It part, that's true and necessary. My point is that for those of us that are interested in our future personal well being and who recognize the need to invest money, we need access. It's expensive to manage lots of little investors. But it's necessary for the financial good of the 'army' and to refute the blog pundants who recognize the selfserving aspect of the Plan. I did send this message to Pickens. He's fairly insulated and uses a large staff to field this kind of stuff. It's unlikely that he'll ever read it. Just like the need to build numbers to convince our politicians to get off their ass, numbers of people who want to invest will have to grow in order to get his attention. Do you see what I'm getting at?

As for my offer to manage this, someone has to and his sytem may, as others have pointed out, be bogged down with a system that supports the small investor.

2. Would you be willing to ask your frineds on line and in your life to help with the pledge challenge. Here is a copy of wht I ask.....

"PLEDGES" are the best way to build this army fast. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. Download them, get them signed, fax them back. When you hit 100, let us know, we will add you to the "100CLUB GROUP. If half the folks that said they would do "anything" to spread the word participated, we would have more than a million supporting this effort in short order.

We are not asking folks to take up arms, but THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. Do we have the fortitude? Isn't it time to stand up and say NO MORE FOREIGN OIL? ARE YOU IN?

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON
This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS". Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

You can also help by BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs, get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

I ended up being CFO for a research & development company. Half of our work was in alternative energy...magnetic motors with Troy Reed in Tulsa, hydrogren fuel cells through a group in Santa Fe. It was actually the Santa Fe group, not ours, that worked with the developer of the hydrogren fuel cell in Ohio. He was running his go cart track on the hydrogren fuel cells that he developed. They were going to help him with manufacturing and distribution of them, but 2 days before they were to meet to finalize plans, the Pentagon, the FBI, and the CIA showed up in Ohio to meet with him. He had just filed his final patents. When the government saw that his technology worked, they confiscated all of his prototypes and his patents, classified them in the interest of national security, and left him out in the cold. They then used his technology in Desert Storm. This is not a conspiracy theory. Sometimes conspiracies to bilk us are true.

I would like to help organize (somehow) a march down in Washington to raise awareness and to show it to the politictians that the American public DEMAND more time be focused upon environmental issues. I think there should be much more going on than just changing a light bulb and following the ten best ways to save the environment from a magazine article. While I do not deny that those things can help, I just believe that national standards must be made within the US and bills that must be passed to get those non-environmental products off the shelves, so it would no longer have to be a choice. The products out there on the shelves just would be safe for the environment!
