In the ad Boone talks about how the Iranians are moving quickly to vehicles powered by natural gas so they can free up their $120 a barrel oil to sell to us. Boone says: “Get this one. Iran is changing its cars to run on natural gas and we’re not doing a thing here…”

mr. t.boone thankx for this ad it seems like in the last 24 months or so everytime the little bearded man popped out of his box and made a degragatory remark,
about the cost of a barrel of oil, and that it had not reached it true cost or potential in the marketplace, or he was going to threaten this country or that country, the price would go up that day at the pump. so based on this conclusion, it is not in our countrys best interest to continue to buy oil from foreign countries when we are held hostage to these market conditions. its time now to go for one million members by jan. 1.

I just watched Mr. Pickens on Fox as he spoke to Mr. Caputo regarding the candidates and his attempts to get NBC to put his ad on and I liked the way he handled the interview.

The public needs to know about the time element; drilling for oil vs addition of wind towers. More info on all the other countries that are utilizing this method.

Mr Pickens, we can do better. I have filed in US patent office an application No: 12184151 dt 07/31/2008 titled "Gravity Powered Rail, Road and Runway transportation systems' which replaces 70% of energy requirements with gravity, and it can be implemented starting from today. I just completed IB application process in Geneva too, covering the entire world. You see we need not import a single drop of oil if we adopt this system which uses gravity power to transport at 250mph from city to city both goods and people, without even acquiring land but use the exisiting roads, move all personal cars without use of fossil fuel which move on gravity powered roads, the same roads we have are used; launch aircraft from airports without burning the expensive jet fuel --- It is the latest invention which can redefine the power politics driven by oil and so naturally I expect powerful lobbies to block my work. It is still only less than 30 days young and so hope people like you see the wisdom of using the eternal and omnipresent power of gravity!

I love the idea of sharing with the world about the countries like Iran that are pro-actively moving to be energy independent. Maybe we could begin a series of similar adds across a series of countries: Germany installs over 300,000 solar home installations since 1997. The cost of home installations has gone down dramatically. The grid pays a premium on the extra power to the grid. Or look at Freiamt Germany .... it has four windmills, around 250 rooftop solar systems generating heat and electricity, and a handful of biogas digesters, which turn animal dung and other organic waste into fuel. Several residents have also ripped out ancient water wheels and installed modern hydro generators.

The German Mellert bakery and gristmill, with its four stories of whirring machines and baking ovens, is powered by a water turbine. So is the rustic saw mill owned by Gottlieb Reinbold, a white-haired former pig farmer in patched overalls. During peak season, the turbine produces enough electricity to power both the mill and his home. It also feeds enough power into the grid to earn him $880 a month, about half his total income.

What is confusing to me is that Iran imports 5.9 percent of its natural gas. We import 19.5 percent of our natural gas. Because we are a big consumer that means 117.9 trillion cubic meters of gas or 14.8 percent of the total imports. Source: CIA World Factbook in article by Daniel Workman, http://internationaltradecommodities.suite101.com/article.cfm/dependent_natural_gas_importers)

This import scenario says to me that natural gas is a stop gap as we develop energy renewable resources.

This is a great ad and we need more of this!

Change the wording and it should fly. Say something like Some of the countries in the middle east are changing their cars to run on natural gas so that they can sell and profit from selling us high-priced $120.00 barrell of oil. We need to change a significant portion of our cars to run on CNG and reduce our dependency on foreign oil.

Again this is good stuff!

While I like the ad overall, I don't think the statement; "we're not doing anything" is quite accurate. Maybe just not fast or quick enough as some might like. Option? Get more involved. NBC? Wake up and run the ad!

It's a shame that foreign countries have the vision and we lay stagnant

I think you should change the wording of the add to say something like, "We are doing very little here to convert our cars to natural gas." That would be a more accurate statement and still leave the point of your add intact. Then perhaps NBC wouldn't have a problem with it.

Mr. Boone,
I would like to applaud your efforts to show the general populous here in America that other Countries are profiting from our Idle Efforts towards Energy Independance. I hope that every UNITED STATES CITIZEN see's your video clip and learns from it. I also would like to thank you for pushing the American Solutions to the energy problems we face. It would seem that your meeting with the Senate fell on deaf ears. I had a glimmer of hope when I watched you set before them and talk Common Sense to them. It seems that Common Sense and Politics dont mix. What I think people have forgotten is WE THE PEOPLE are the Government of the United States of America and its time for us to remind our Political Leader of that. I have talked with many people here on this website and the amount of brilliant people is staggering. I wonder what it is that is keeping us from winning this battle to implement Alternative Energies on a huge scale?
