The Nature Coast Clean Cities Coalition will kick off on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10am at Tallahassee Community College.

Special welcome to Florida State District 9 Congresswoman Michelle Rehwinkel and Pickens Plan Congressional District 2 Leader Joe Jenkins. Governor Crist has been invited but has yet to accept our invitation.

The goal of NCCC is to significantly improve the environmental performance of business and government vehicle fleets across the NCCC service area of Florida through the use of alternative fuels and other strategies.

The Advisory board consists of: Jeremy Susac, Governors Energy Office; Rick Frazier, Tallahassee Community College; Rudy Rowe, Southland Contracting; David Rancourt, Southern Strategy; Martin Costello, FDEP; Ann Fink, Coordinator and Jeff Greene, Consultant.

The proposed area of coverage is: Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla Counties. The counties further west will be represented by the Emerald Coast Clean Cities, currently under development and the counties to the east will be represented by the Heart of Florida Clean Cities Coalition and the North Florida Clean Cities Coalition. A complete state map will be available at the meeting. Ultimately, the State will be covered by 6 or 7 coalitions depending on how the Tampa area chapter determines their borders.
