- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I am interested in helping any way I can. I believe in the power of our planet to supply our needs for endless generations to come. However we need to stop the destruction of our ecosystem and economy with our dependence on oil. Reducing our carbon emissions is vital and we are out of control and racing toward extinction if we do not change how we do things. Coal emissions and other wasteful ways of producing electricity are creating tragedies in our habitat. I do not have money to invest, but I do have time and the desire to help save the economy and the planet.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- We need change. We need to develop alternative energy sources and make our country Great again. I believe we are doing ourselves an injustice by sending our money up in smoke with no return for ourselves. We need to use the available wind sources to reduce coal emissions, and remove the need for gasoline in order to keep our quality of life high. Oil is not going to be here forever. If we want the things we have now to be available for our future generations, we will have to develop better ways to use what is here. I am Totally behind this program, and psyched that someone of influence is starting to ask the little guy if he/she wants to help.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I do not have money, but I have land. I do not have money to invest, but we do have land upon which we would welcome wind towers and amusingly enough ComEd/Exelon has a nuclear facility across the road from our house and they have proposed a line of wind farms starting at their facility heading across Illinois.

We are thrilled to help announce that we are an army of over a Million Members!!! If we can keep this up we shall become and even larger force to be reckoned with. If Nothing Else...
At the very least, this movement has raised the public awareness about where we are in our world energy situation. We are at a crossroads. We must be aware of where we are at or we shall wind up with nothing done and no where to go. Eventually it Will be too late. We Must Stand Together, or Certainly We Shall Be Left Swinging in the Wind!!
We must be willing to follow someone. I completely agree with the analogy of a Camel being the Thoroughbred Horse Designed by Committee. T. Boone Pickens is willing to lead us into the next generation of power generation and use. We applaud his actions. We are willing to follow his ideas and his plans. We cannot degenerate this into a mob of "Chiefs" all demanding the others to be the "Indians". House Party Ideas!
We live in Northern IL, Near enough to Rockford that a trip would not be prohibitive. Is anyone in this area planning a get together? I was hoping to hook up with the Boone Co. folks who finally managed to get the wind farm past the Nay-saying population. Would an outdoor venue work? There are lots of parks in this area where we could bring a lawn chair and a cooler of cold water to drink and a snack and make it an informal "Lawn Party". The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.

I have found that petitons are the best way to spread the word AND sign up supporters.
Here is HOW TO TURN THE PLEDGE INTO A PETITION!
I find it easiest to take one pledge, cut off Boone's lines under the pledge and add a sheet of lined paper under the pledge instead. I put NAME - ADDRESS - EMAIL across the top and fill in the first line to set the format. Most are more willing to sign where others have already done so, rather than the single pledge at a time approach. Everyone understands a petition.
I ask if they would "sign this petition in support of T, Boone Pickens energy plan to get us off of foreign oil?" Hand them the clipboard so they can read it. I do not require the signers to give me their email if they are reticent - don't let that be a deal breaker - some just do not want to give it.
Check out the 100CLUB group page to see how others have accomplished the task. (it is the first goup on my page) When you send/fax in 100, let me know, we will gladlyinvite you to be a member of the 100CLUB. Your leadership on this will inspire thousands!
There are over 150 people in the pledge challenge that I know of right now. Surely, there are many more that I am unaware of, as it is in many greetings. Those 150 willl bring 15,000 new members. If each brings just 5 friends, these 150 will be responsible for 75,000 new members.
This is the approach that works best for me - I tried many. Hopefully, this will encourage you to take the challenge, too. CAN YOU HELP?

It has been a while since we kept in touch last!
We are now over 1.2 million suporters. We will need many more if we are to beat back the damn lobbyists and special interests. Can you help with the pledges? Every American needs to sign on. With pledges we can fan out and reach so many. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. I was able to get 300 signed in the first 4 days - everyone wants to to get off of foreign oil. We may never have a golden opportunity like this again!
